“You said you used to live around here, where did you live? I have been here for one hundred and sixty and did not see you once.”

“I did not live in the city, I lived on the hills just outside of here, we only came into town when we needed something, but my family lived off of those hills. I left as soon as I could and only come back here every couple of years. Sorry I have been talking long time, what about you? Have you never thought of leaving this place?”

“No I haven't really thought of leaving, my entire family lived here it, my life is here, my friends are here, everybody I have ever known are here, it would feel weird to leave.” I said.

“Your friends huh,what are they like? If I remember, your friends who dragged you to places you don't want to be at?” The girl said.

“Yeah,you got me there, but they mean well, they just have a different sense of fun than me but they are still my friends.”

Laughing, she says, “I know some people like that too”Ii look up and realize somehow, we got to the liquor store. Looking down at her, she smiles back up at me.

“Your friends are probably waiting for you, I need to go now, goodbye, I hope to see you again” still smiling she turns to leave I stood there watching her leave for a second, then remembered still don't know her name.

“Wait! I still don't know your name, will you share it with me!” Shouting at the retreating figure, just wanting to speak to her for a little longer, any topic would do. She turns around to face me, smiles her best smile, then disappears around the corner. After she got around the corner, I ran after her, but by the time I reached the corner, she was already gone. I walked back to where my friends would be waiting for me. This time I was feeling better about leaving, because in my heart, I knew I would see her again.

“Where did you go all of a sudden” Lucas was the first to speak out to me. I could tell, there were both furious at me, but I did not care, it was worth it.

“I needed to do something, but I am here now, are you guys ready to go.”
