“Hey Maggie.” Maggie is my best friend we have known each other for a long time. “ I saw her again.”
“Yeah, where did you see her, how did it go?”
“It was yesterday, when we went to get the beer for the party, I saw her walking. We talked while we took a walk. She said she travels a lot, come here because she used to live on the hills outside of town. She rarely came to the village when she lived here.”
“The hills? I have never seen a house up there nor did I ever hear of a family living up there, are you sure you heard her right?”
“Yeah, I am sure she said in the hills, it's weird that you haven't heard of anyone living up there, considering how much time you spend there.” Maggie's family are some of the local hunters, she has been hunting since before I was born.
“If her family barely came down here, it would make sense nobody knew of a family living up there, they probably did not know anybody good enough to talk to anyone. What I find the strangest, is that no one saw a house when they were out hunting. That must mean she lived near the outskirts of the hills, no one goes out that far, it would take too long to get back, meat would spoil.” She takes a small break and I saw a light bulb flash in her eyes. “I got an idea, let's see if we can find it!” Excited, she starts rambling about what we would need, how long it would take and the preparations she would need to take.
“Calm down I never said I would go, wouldn't that be dangerous, and you have to leave your job for who knows how long.”
“Well yeah but I think it would be worth it, and I can hunt some on the way back, and before you mention it, i would be closing the shop, I have enough money to last, so floors will not need to be cleaned either. Don't think of reasons to not go, think of the possibilities of going.” She sounded very enthusiastic for this trip. She started staring at me with the hope of finding something new.
“It would be a great way of finding something new. Let's do it.” her excitement for this trip is starting to sink into me and against my better nature I started to think that this could be a good idea.
Yay, let's start packing we will be gone for at least eight weeks but pack as lightly as possible, we will leave in one week. Goodbye I will see you tomorrow.” After hugging me, she left, with a hop in her step. With a chuckle I think This trip could prove to be more than I bargained for with her coming along.
