The palace was still, the servants sweeping the grounds outside as Vivluna sat with Carbel within continued on in conversation.

Vivluna sat on the floor near the thrones. Carbel was curled up on a series of soft pillows as he looked at his grandparent. The older omega regarded him with soft eyes, Vivluna broke the silence between them.

"You must be wondering what I am exactly, if my soul does not fully reside in my body correct?” his grandmother's voice was soft, warm and sweet, though clearly male in tone, it still reminded him of his mother.

“Yes actually grandmother, I must admit to being curious about that”

, “I am the mother of your mother, Kogome. My brother Arale was once the king of Dirue. My parents are The Old Gods, they had several children, I am the youngest born from their divine power. I was born as an oracle. My only surviving sibling was my half human half brother Arale was enraged by this and stole my soul with the help of his wife, the human hedge witch Shifumi.”

“He created the kingdom of Dirue, Arale and his human wife kept to their serpentine ways, they formed the clan Stormheart. He waged war against me and Taijit was born from one of Arale's son's cousin's arranged marriages“

The raven's eyes widened in realization, “So….Arale wanted to create a race of vampires incapable of using magic?”

Nodding, Vivluna whispered, “He and Shifumi had many children, those children went on to breed with humans, the Stormhearts and Diure who joined had all that was magical stripped away from them after generations of breeding with humans. That is why you will see humans with red eyes and nothing else, or humans who love nature and animals a bit, too much. Arale wants to destroy all magic in this world, simply because his mother was a human, and magic carries from mother to child. You were born with magic because of your mother, your brothers as well, your brother, Salthazar however….”

  Vivluna trailed off and Carbel leaned in closer to hear as his voice lowered to a whisper.

“Your youngest brother, Salthazar Stormheart, is not the son of your mother at all, his mother is a vampire who possesses no magic, Sakune, daughter of the Old Queen of Dirue, Shifumi Stormheart, widow of Arale, Sakune's father was a human as well."
