CHAPTER 6

We finally pulled up to the hose 6 hours later. I opened the door and stepped out of the car into the hot sun. It felt glorious to stand after 6 hours because my bottom and legs were stiff.

Several people were out and about in front of the large house. When i looked up the house, more like skyscraper, towered above me. This was the largest pack house I had ever seen. It was beautiful. It had a rustic but modern feel to it and the front porch was perfect for reading. The front door what a beautiful blue contrasting to the dark browns of the siding.

The courtyard in which we were standing in had several cars in front as well as several in garages along the side of one part of the building. Gardens edged along the whole building only parting for walkways to the backyard the garages and the stairs up to the porch. They also gathered to the side of the build where i saw every thing from herds to tomatoes growing.

On the porch were chairs and people sitting in them. On the floor of the porch you could see children playing and a few people in their wolf form lounging the sun.

Overall the house was gorgeous and i couldn’t see myself living here. “It’s gorgeous!” i whisper to myself. I walk in a circle looking at everything taking it all in.

It seems mom herd because she then speaks “And it’s where we will be living for the rest of our lives. You will eventually find your mate a become The Alpha Female.”

“Ok. Lets do that”

After getting my self settled in and putting whatever clothes I had in my closet I came downstairs. It was after diner as we had missed dinner people were sitting in the living room crowded around the huge fireplace waiting for the person at the head to speak.

The person at the front was older but had a peaceful smile on her face she looked like she had seen a lot through her life as werewolves had extra long lives. Some lived up to 250 years old.

“Today I am going to tell a story about a friend I once had.” her voice sounded surprisingly young.

As the woman told the story I looked around and observed everybody. This is something I have had to do to protect myself in the past. Observing people is everything because you can get so much information out of the microexpressions it’s not even funny.

Around twenty minutes later the woman finished and looked toward me. “Would you like to tell a story from your life?” she asked me with uncertainty in her voice.

“I would but all my life stories would scar the everyone here for life. So I should probably pass.” I said in a quiet voice. Tears threatened to fall but I pushed them back so my face became neutral again.

“There is no children around. Tell your story.” she persuaded me. I Gave in because I could tell she wasn’t going to give up.

“Fine.” I made my way to the fireplace” I will tell a true story on when my mother tried to poison me” I could see the shocked faces on the peoples faces.

I got lost in the story as I told it remembering every little detail of that day.

The day started like any other. Wake up and hide from my parents. At the time I was 8 years of age and the day before I was caught stealing a roll from the dinner table. I knew the punishment was coming I just didn’t know when.

The first person I saw that day was my brother. He was kind to me at the time giving me extra rations. Sadly that ended soon after.

He had brought me a book to read as well as some new clothes. This was the greatest gift I could ever receive from someone because I found that reading took me to other universes that were better than my own. I had hopes that one day a half giant name hagrid would take me away to a school of magic or I would find out I was a demigod and have to run for my life to a camp full of new family and friends. I wanted to play a video game called the OASIS and become a gunter or get a job at the circus only to find out that the tiger is really a young man from 300 years ago. I wanted to go to england to solve murder cases with a world famous detective or go on a voyage to get back home after the trojan war. The thing I most wanted though, was most definitely, a family.

Hopefully one day I would get that, but for now I had to deal with my horrid family. I had to survive to get that stuff. I needed to work for it.

As I sat in my closet I listen to for the footsteps of my mother hoping that she wouldn't come up. Sadly my wishes don't come true. I heard her steps coming up the stairs. I was shaking from the thought of her. I couldn't think I couldn't breathe I didn't want to see her I didn't want to deal with this right now. The door to my room opened “ where are you little brat” I heard my mother's ratchet voice squeak through my room I didn't dare to make a peep for fear that you would find me in the closet hiding from her. Tears rolled down my face. I couldn't do this I couldn't I didn't want to face her. She finally opened my closet door “ haha that's where you been hiding little wretch of a child you should have never been born.” she says this was such distaste that you can hear the hatred in her words.

I tried to hold back my tears but they just kept rolling down my face “ no!” I cried out with all my might trying to prevent her from pulling me from the closet. I held on to the door frame hoping I was strong enough to keep myself from getting captured into her sweaty grasps. But she held on she pulled and pulled at my ankles trying to get me to leave the closet finally she just dropped me I fell and I hit my head on the floor. In my momentary dizziness she finally picked me up and dragged me down the stairs.

“ today you are going to learn your lesson so you never steal again!” her words shook me from inside. Worry started gathering in my heart it was a wrenching horrible feeling it felt like dozens bugs rolling up and eating me from inside out. She put a role in front of me. I stared at it in momentary confusion. “Why are you giving me food?” I managed to choke out through my tears.

“ just eat it you little wretch” I had to cover my ears from her screeching. I took a bite and everything was fine for a moment. But then I felt a horrible pain starting in my head. It spreading further throughout my body it felt like someone was ripping everything out of me. I fell to the floor convulsing I pulled out my hair trying to make it stop. It needed to go away. Suddenly it was like nothing had ever happen. Like that momentary sickness never even happened.

After I finished there was a big pause of silence. The woman gave me a hug “You are the strongest person I have ever encountered. To go through that at such a young age… wow.”

“I Don’t want any of your f**king pity.”

I walked away to my room. I was long over her. I couldn't think of her anymore she was just a part in my life that should have been deleted but wasn't the part of my life that went wrong. I will never go back there again and I will never ever fall for her tricks ever again.

I climb the stairs to my room my room was on the top floor with my new parents as I walked through the door to my room. My room was pretty simple the walls were like ryan the ceiling was a dark blue the sheets or a shiny silver color and the pillows match the ceiling all around the room hung pictures from all over the world that my mother had taken. My clothes were in the open closet and there is a bathroom leading off from the room there are two nightstands on either side of my bed they were also a dark blue. The carpet was a dark grey and my new phone sat on the nightstand.

“ let's hope this lasts” I speak to myself out into the empty room the echoes because the ceilings were so tall. It felt kind of empty. I decided I wanted to escape this room I wanted to go out into the free world for once and just run and run and run. But first I had to look at my phone. I never had a phone before it was all new to me the screen load bright as I turned it on as I unlocked it I found the background is already set. It was a picture of all of us in the car. I was sleeping and they were smiling and singing along to the tune of the music. it was it was a good picture. I noticed the date next. It was June 11th. That meant her birthday was tomorrow. That meant I would finally be shifting into her wolf tomorrow.

I wonder what is my wolf going to be like will she be sassy like me or maybe she would be timid. I also wonder what color she is. brown, black,white would be okay too. But let's not dwell on this too long it's almost time to for bed almost time to revisit my memories. Back to sleep with these thoughts in my head that my wolf, my birthday, and the events of today.
