Snape decided not to bring up Potter's actions from the night before. However, he did keep a curious eye on him from then on. Harry tried not to say anything, but it was hard not to notice someone staring at you everytime you sat down to eat.
Harry also noticed something more about his professor. Even though acted grumpy everyday and seemed like he hated his job, Snape actually seemed to take pride in any student accomplishments. Regardless of house, not that Slytherin wasn't favored.
It was quiet the peculiar thing to witness. The subtle changes in his professor's expresion to show how he truly felt.
The rest of the week passed by rather quietly.
In the last class on Friday one kid did try to sneak a leg-locking jinx at the professor. Harry, of course, jumped infront of S ape and got full brunt of it. He fell to the ground and the class laughed.
Harry looked back at Snape instinctively. Seeing the Professor was perfectly fine, he sighed and sent a steady glare at the student. They locked gazes and suddenly the kid was crying in fear. Harry broke eye contact and pulled out his wand.
Snape watched to wholw thing go down with interest and confusion. 'What was that just now?' He wondered. "Miss. Novel! 30 points from Slytherin! Potter, here." Snape said handing Harry an antidote.
Harry smiled while he stood up. "No thanks. I learned the spell to undo it. All those years in the hospital wing, I had to pick up something." He said with a small chuckle before disappearing into his usual spot on the side of the class room. Snape simply nodded and put the vile back, but in his head he was trying to figure out how Harry had taken off such a jinx with ease.
The class left and Harry visibly relaxed a bit. Snape notice and looked at the time. I will be going back to my housings, afterward you are free to do as you wish. He said. Harry looked genuinely surprised by the gesture. "T-thank you professor." He said. Snape just nodded and gathered his stuff.
They headed back to Snape's rooms together. Harry seem like he was going for a stroll, but that was hardly the case. He kept eye's everywhere and stayed just far enough back from Snape to keep him safe, just like he read to do in the training manuals Hermione had picked out for him. Luckily, they made it there without a hitch. "Alright. go." Snape demanding, picking up a book. Harry nodded and quickly disappeared out the door.
It's not that he had anything to do in general, Harry was just happy to have some alone time spent out of the dungeons. He walked around the ground and just let his mind wonder. 'Hmmm... What should I make for breakfast tomorrow?'
It had been come relatively normal to make breakfast. Harry loved to cook, plus Snape didn't seem to be complaining. 'All I've really been able to make are omelettes and toast. I should make a bigger breakfast tomorrow.' He brain planned out breakfast for the next day as he walked aimlessly. He was near the edge on the forbidden forest, nobody ever came out this far. The quiet sobs that were gradually become louder seem to disprove his theory though.
Harry crept towards a large tree just on the edge of the forest. When he peeked behind it he looked to see Blaize Zambini. The Slytherin had not yet noticed him. Harry's first instincts were to walk away and pretend he never saw, but he knew he couldn't. He sighed inwardly and silently sat down next to his sobbing classmate.
Zambini looked up and Harry who only looked looked ahead. He quickly wiped his tears away. "w-what do yo want P-potter?" He asked, his breath still unstable. Harry shrugged. Zambini glared. "If you are looking for someone to gloat to then-""You looked like you could use some company" Harry cut him off. Zambini just stared. When Harry finally turned to meet his eyes he could tell that the golden boy's words were true. At least, Harry seemed to believe them anyways.
They both sat there in silence. "So who were they?" Harry asked finally. Blaize glared off into the forest accusingly. "AS if, I'd tell you." He said, taking a shaky breath in between his words. More silence followed. In the silence Zambini thought of the one he lost and tears started to flow out his eyes. No matter how hard he tried. He was so tired of bottling this up, and he could tell that it was going to come out anyways. Blaize sighed and he attempted to regain his composure. "Oh what the hell. Not like I've got much more to lose. But you have to give me your word that this won't leave this spot." Harry nodded assuringly. Blaized looked away just in case. "He was my boyfriend. He was a dominant Veela and I was his mate. He swore he'd protect me until his last breath, but I didn't think that his last breath would come so soon." Blaizes voice cracked.
Harry was surprised, of course, but he hid it rather well. "Are you?" He asked, not quite sure how to word it. "A Veela? No. What I am is pitiful. Draco and Pansy are the only ones that know what my inheritance is." Blaize paused and stared off while Harry waited patiently. Not knowing how to say it, Blaize just dropped him glamors and let himself be seen by Harry.
Blaize had brown ears and tail as well as fangs, claws and a padded nose. Without a doubt, he was a neko. The fact he showed more animalistic features suggested he was a sub too, which makes his mate a Dom- Veela. One of the most protective creatures known to the wizarding world. Neko's were also known for becoming extremely attached to their mate. When a sub-Neko loses their mate, they have been known to fall into a deep depression which often leads to suicide.
Harry sighed. "I see." He said plainly. Blaize on the other hand, was astounded. "W-wait. You're not gonna laugh?" He asked curiously. Harry just shook his head. "Of course not."
After a moment to process that Harry wasn't judging him, Blaize sighed. Tears brimmed his eye once again. "I'm so sorry Potter. I was so cruel to you. I... I'm sorry." The bboy sobbed into his hands and Harry rubbed his back soothingly. "Shhhhh. You have nothing to be sorry for. You're okay. Everything is going to be just fine." Blaize's sobs softened as Harry continued to tell him everything was going to be okay. With one last final sniff he looked at harry with a pained smiled. "Thank you Potter. I don't deserve even a splinter of kindness, but I'm glad you were here." "Harry" The raven haired boy corrected. "Just call me Harry" He repeated with a smile. Blaize smiled back, and stood up while putting him glamor back on.
"Well than, Harry, I think I'm okay now. Thank you. Do.. I mean, do you think we could be friendly in public as well." Harry chuckled lightly. "Of course." He said, leaving Blaize to walk away with a smile.
Harry watched the slytherin go and sighed. Every bit of strength he just showed blaize was a fasued. He envied the people he soothed because they could cry. He wished he could cry, but he knew he couldn't. He had to be strong so that they have someone to lean on. It was his fault after all.
