Big Bad Mafia

Marry Whom?

Marry Whom?

Sep 15, 2018

Alex

'Oh God, Alie, What happened?' Her voice sounded as soft as ever with a hint of concern.

'Allie, you okay?' She said, walking to the other side of the bed.

'Allie' This time she was touching my hand and shaking it gently.

I didn't open my eyes, but I knew she left to call the nurse. That girl, she had the heart of God that couldn't tell what’s fake and real.

Not a long time after she left, she came in with the nurse. Suddenly I heard Lynn spoke.

'What happened to her? She didn't move nor respond to me the first time I came in.'

'She's jus – '

'She opened her eyes' She cut the nurse with a voice that sounded so relieved that I had opened my eyes.

'How do you feel, Ms. Davis?' Mrs. Jones asked me.

'Better.'

'Good, you may stay here until you feel a lot better for the next period.' She said again

She checked on me again and left after saying that. Lynn, she asked about what really happened and I told her all about it. From that stupid paper to the ‘fake migraine’ and this tiredness that I didn’t know about until the nurse told me.

Maybe that’s why my brain was on five percent battery all the time (not all the time, but yeah)

She was worried that time she heard me being in the infirmary, but I told her that I would get better soon. I asked her to leave so that she could do her group work for English that was being abandoned because I believed that the other useless group members would rely all on her. Poor her. I wish I would be in the same class as her for English.

I was at the school gate because I told the nurse that I would get better rest at home and she let me. Alex was with me when the nurse allowed to get back home. But now? He wasn’t. Then where? I didn’t freaking know.

You owed me, Axel.

The first thing I did when I reached my room was taking a good nap.

I had a very pleasant dream of me seating on the white sand at Ora beach, spending my time relaxing and running on the beach that warming my soul thro –

'Alex, open the door and head downstairs, Mom and Dad have something serious to talk.'

Did I hear something? Why did this voice sound so much like my mother’s voice? Was it a family vacation on the beach?

‘Alex, you hear me? We will be waiting for you downstairs.’

I nuzzled deeper into my pillow. It felt like heaven on earth, you know? You were at your dream beach with your family even if there was some annoying voice. I kept hearing this for like 5 minutes and somehow it got me on my nerv-

'Alex Davis, open the door now and head downstairs!’ Someone yelled on the other side of the door. By someone I meant my mother.

OK, OK, Relax woman. I was here. Tell you what, once my mother called my full name that could only mean one thing, something serious was about to happen. But, what was more serious than my beauty sleep?

'I'll be downstairs in a minutee ...' I dragged the last word, oh how I just wanted to be in my bed.

It' was just like what? 05:00 p.m? Wow, my parents have never been home this early. Guess, there must be something that needed some real serious talk.I dragged myself to open the door and head downstairs. I didn't bother to change my clothes, I was just in a baggy T-shirt and sweatpants, comfortable enough to take a nap with.

Something didn’t feel right by the looks on my parents’ faces and this sorrowful tensing of the room. I felt like a bad thing was about to happen. Then, it happened after my mother delivered the news of the marriage. I was so confused by what she said until she said her next words.

'CHICK BRAT WHAT??' Please tell me I heard it wrong. My mom didn't really say what I think I heard.

'Grebenshchikov Bratva. I’m really sorry Alex, your dad and I will do anything to stop them before they have the chance to take you away. You're not going to marry him, we will never let that happen, Alex. Believe me.' I stared at her dumbfounded, wasn’t able to even form a word to say.

‘B – but.’ I tried to utter a word but couldn’t. My voice felt heavy because of this bomb news. Oh man, I couldn't comprehend what's being said. I would marry a mafia, like FOR REAL? Not any mafia but the most notorious one. Tell me this was just some kind of sick joke, if it was really a joke then you got me, Mom. Hey, why was my vision blurry? Why suddenly I felt like this place was spinning? The world suddenly was too bright for me but hey now it was a bit darker, darker and darker until the darkness consumed me. The last thing I heard was my mom's voice. Well, hello darkness, how's it going?
