Xzailia is a human with different color hair and eyes along with an animal feature. Half-breeds have colors that are closer to each other. When Enri meets Neru, an Xzailia of a rare Brown-wolf breed, and he saves her from death’s grasp. The racism between Xzailia and humans grows worse as the two grow closer.
Brief Plan
Enri wakes up on a top rooftop of a three-story building. Behind her, a masked man pushes her off the building. As she screams and falls, pedestrians are alerted with horror. From the streets, a young Xzailia[1] runs to catch her and succeeds. He runs away with Enri and hides in thick bushes. Enri thanks him and their eyes meet. Enri compliments his glowing green eyes[2]. He gasps and hides them behind his bronze hair. When Enri asks for his name, he quietly said Neru. He begins to cry then runs away, leaving Enri in wonder and confusion.
Enri makes her way carefully through the streets to her family mansion. At the gate, the guards stop and ask for her ID. When she shows it to them they step back and lets her in. When she walks into her house, her elder brother, Rien embraces her tightly and asks her about what happens. While she is explaining, her ill father and Rien’s fiance, Aiqing, join the conversation. Rien sends guards to investigate. Enri tells her audience about the Xzailia, Neru, who saved her. She told him how his eyes were glowing and a scar, she noticed on his neck. Aiqing recommends her to read about the biology of Xzailia’s. Enri smiled then ventured to her room.
From the basement of a wealthy man’s house, Neru sat, breathless in his cell room. The wounds on his back had reopened and were covered with more cuts. It stung to leave and the bandages that wrapped him were drenched in blood. A maid came to change his bandages. She informed him that he would be sold off at the next day’s auction at the Grand Hall and that the medicine she was using would clear his wounds overnight. Neru sighed and went to sleep.
The following day, Enri accompanied her brother to the Grand Hall Auction. She glanced at a wagonful of people near the back. She ventured around and spotted a row of them. As she glanced into one of the open ones, she spotted Neru, he was asleep. She ventured inside and stroked his pale cheek. He woke up and jumped from surprise. His eyes glowed again and he hid them by swinging his hair across his face as he lowered his head. As she began to leave, Enri apologized and left.
In the duration of the Grand Hall Auction, Enri kept her eyes on the stage for Neru. When it concluded, Enri was a bit saddened. Rien asked if she was looking for the Xzailia. Enri replied that she saw him again in one of the wagons in the back. He looked as if he was hurt, physically and mentally. She said she wanted to help him and Rien placed his hand on her head.
When they arrived at their house, Enri was surprised to see Neru in her room. He was blindfolded and his hands were tied behind his back. Enri rushed to untie him and when their eyes met, Neru’s glowed again. He covered them with his hands and stood. Enri asked her brother why he was here and he replied that he noticed her worry and care about him so he was bought. When Rien left, Enri asked Neru if he was hungry or needed anything. Neru didn’t reply but he shivered slightly.
