In which the over-arching theme of the story becomes apparent rather quickly.
-- The city of Amada is located in the northern region of Ratana, one of the many provinces of what is now known as Aatos. An ancient city of great power, Amada stands vigil over The Great Well. It, alongside the Eye of Nahuatl and Huon's Gate, make up the three sources of magic in the Waking Realm. Through them, every body of water in Ila is connected, and because of that, magic flows freely through the flora and fauna of the world.
The events of The Breaking nearly devastated the world, but through the power of Ora, and the combined strength of the Chosen, the Void was driven back into It's prison, sealed away under the Eye of Nahuatl. However, even if the Void WAS sealed away... a shred of Its being still housed itself in the Waking Realm; a seed rooting itself in the mind of Veles, slowly driving the Great Dragon mad, even in deep hibernation.
Through this... It continued to grow, it continued to fester. Eventually, It was strong enough to reach out, It's tendrils barely brushing the edges of the Six Elements.
... but a brush was all It needed. --

Well I said there was something coming today, and there is! SURPRISE! As a gift on my birthday, I decided to publicly drop page one of the prologue of my new series 'Through Hell or High Water'! I wish I could say I was more prepared to write something witty here, but there's just so much to say about this series and why I'm so deeply in love with it, but I don't want to say things or spoil things for later on, haha. THIS IS HARD. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TALK ABOUT MYSELF. WHAT ARE WORDS.
But anyway, I am in the process of finishing the remaining pages of this prologue, and once it is done, I am going to drop it all at once, so you guys will have all the things to soak in soon. I promise. I hope... HOPE to be done by the new year, so look forward to that. (Barring any other technological interruptions... *glares at setup*)
ANYWAY. YEAH. SO. If you guys are curious about wheelings and dealings of things to come, please ask! I promise not to spoil anything TOO big ;)

--In the wake of the Breaking, catastrophic amounts of casualties occurred across Ila, tearing the world in two; the mortal race was on the brink of extinction. If there's one thing mortals are good at, however, it's surviving. Eventually, colonies began to appear across the lands (now called Aatos and Lur respectively), and society once more began to rise.
There is one other thing that mortals are often wont to be good at... and that, unfortunately, is forgetting. And oftentimes... it can prove VERY dangerous.--
Welcome to 'Through Hell or High Water'! This is a fantasy-based graphic novel series focused around a small group of unlikely companions who, through unseen outside forces, come together in order to try and stop the chaos of the Void from escaping its bindings and swallowing the Waking Realm into darkness for eternity.
This story also focuses on the best and worst elements of the mortal race as a whole, and the grey areas that hold us all together through the beginning of the end.
