Em checked herself for any sign of injury. She was sore, yes, but nothing appeared to be openly bleeding or broken. She carefully felt her limbs to make sure that they felt alright. To her relief, everything seemed to be working fine. It definitely felt like there were bruises in a lot of places, most notably her knees, but it wasn't too painful.
There was also a bump on her forehead and the back of her neck. That explained the headache.
There were a few scrapes on her arms, but nothing serious. The biggest injury she could find was on her right hand. On the edge of her hand was a long thin cut. It wasn't bleeding anymore, but it was at least two inches long and looked recently acquired. She didn't have a clue how that injury had occurred.
That seemed to be the extent of things, though she'd have to take her clothes off and find a mirror if she wanted to be entirely thorough. If she wasn't hurt, though, then how did that blood get on her uniform?

Em gave her surroundings another look, to see if she could spot anything that could help explain what had happened, or what was going on. Or anything useful at all, really. There wasn't much. The hallway was devoid of both objects and other people. However there were paths that she could explore.
The hall she was in had a dead end to the right, a door with a window that was glowing red to her left, and two attaching hallways that looked even darker than the one where she was now. These were almost directly ahead.
Em took a deep bracing breath and slowly used a protruding green pipe to help her climb to her feet. Her limbs still felt weak, but she could walk.
