“Have you found the girl yet?”
Even though it was too foggy to see one inch past my nose, I knew they were there, the two men that will ensure my promise to Adalyn will be kept.
“Yes, she is currently staying in a place called Powder Springs.”
“So what are you sitting tight for! Go make sure she remains out of harm's way!”
I could just feel my blood pressure starting to rise, as they sat there in silence.
“Sir, it’s not that easy. We have found out that her father is planning on moving them to a different city, so there is no use intervening in her life now if she’s just going to turn around and leave. We have to play our cards right.”
The more they spoke, the more I could feel my anger consuming my mind. Any more bad news and I was going to burst.
“So, is there anything else I should know before retiring for the night?”
I could sense that they were even more nervous than they were when they walked in.
“Well, we found out the high school she will be attending and decided to enroll ourselves to ensure her safety,”
As they told me this, I could feel myself slowly calming down. But I could tell there was going to be a “but” soon after.
“...But…” I said, positive there was one.
“...But… when we walked into the building, we could sense an overwhelming amount of demonic magic at play. There’s something off about that place. It seemed like every inch of that place was covered in demonic power.”
I couldn't believe it, they have already found her before we even had a chance. But even though they found her there's is the fact that we don't know who is inhabiting the school.
"Go make sure she's not in any danger, keep an eye on her, and when the time is right bring her to me."
