After our trip into the hills, I began to wonder if she could be lying to me, but I could not picture her doing that, there had to be another explanation. Walking down the streets, lost in thought, going wherever my feet just took me. A tap on my shoulder made me snap out of it, I ended up in the market. Looking around, I see the girl.
“Hello”she said. “What brings you here?”
“Oh, I was just taking a walk. I see you came back.” Thinking back, I remembered I wanted to ask her about her house. “I wanted to ask you, I went into the hills...”She started giggling to herself, confused, I went on. “I could not find a house at all, not even a pillar.” By the end, she was laughing very much. “what's so funny.”
“No matter how you state it, looking for my old house? That's a little creepy.” she was still laughing.
Flustered and trying to explain myself, “well I uh did not mean it that way” looking down at the ground, she face popped into my view.
“I know you did not, it's just funny. How long did you stay out, one month? Two?” She started to calm down.
“Two” I whispered. She starts to walk ahead of me, confused, I look up. She motions to me to join her so I jog up to her.
“If you wanted to see where I lived, you could have just asked.” that hit a nerve but I just shook it off. She is still walking a few steps ahead of me.
About an hour after we left the boundaries of the town, she starts speaking. “As I told you before, my mother and father did not like people, so my father spent the better part of his life looking for the perfect place to build a house and building it. We couldn't be too far away from the town or we could not get some of the things we needed, and inside the town was what they hated, after a long time my mother and father moved into this house. It was perfect for them.” As she tells her parents story, she was pulling back vines, revealing a cave. “come on in.”
