I can’t believe it. I start going backward in disillusion. I catch a last glimpse of him before turning my back to him.

He fiddles with his backpack, looking down like a stupid dog who’s done some stupid shit.

-I’m sorry for being a coward, he says as he finally dares to look at me. I’m sorry for everything I’ve done; sorry for treating you like you’re worthless.

But I have too much self-respect to listen to his lies any more, and I refuse to believe that the guy standing there really is the Martin I used to know. I soon disappear in the crowd as he probably just stood there, watching me from afar. How could I ever fall in love with such a jerk?
