Zoar was once a beautiful paradise, a paradise— a place where it's inhabitants flourished. The lush vegetation covered it's beautiful landscape. People lived equally, in peace... In harmony. But all that changed on that day— the fallen day.
A fragment of an unidentified matter fell from the heavens. I scared the planet, bringing pain, division and confusion. But, it also brought something else... a horrible species known today as Maligna. For years the Maligna struck terror into the world— with their frightening strength and overwhelming number. They left the Zoar in chaos for years, riddling it in bloodshed and despair. That was before he came, a great warrior who was the beacon of light for Zoar's inhabitants. With this new hope Zoar fought back, putting fates and courage to the test. But sadly, same as before humanity failed. Humanity was at the brink of being extinguished, however, a miracle happened that change the dynamics of the human-maligna conflict for years to come. The great warrior, out of frustration, used his power to strike the sun, causing fragments of it to fall into the earth's atmosphere. With immediate effect the light scoured areas of the Zoar, creating barriers, those if which the likes of Maligna cannot pass. After that event the warrior disappeared, never to be seen again. Zoar slowly return to somewhat stable conditions, however, the world still searches for a great warrior, one great enough to guide the earth to victory, to defeat the Maligna once and for all.

The Dawn of day was upon the city of scum; home to the poorest of the poor and the savages. Orange hues of light lit up the make shift building structures, known to the inhabitants as home. The overwhelming smell of smoke and other pollutants were all normalities in the place. This is the outer district or so called by the residents Mara's Clutches. Where criminals roam, stalkers lurk and thieves thrive...
Tap. Tap. Tap. Went the sound of unjust footsteps as they swiftly ventured though the lonely alleys, seeking an escape from pursuing legs. The one seeking escape was no other than a thief known only as 'The Epic', infamous for his ability to snatch just about anything from unsuspecting hands. Dressed in his signature dark-blue hooded cloak— finished with a red "E" in a spade, stylishly printed on the back in red paint.
"Wait till I catch you—you little brat! I'm gonna cut your thieving hands off!" Shouted one of the thugs in hot pursuit.
Well you're gonna have to catch me to do that— chump! Thought the thief in utter amusement; like the situation was nothing at all. The thief's speed was far superior to that of his pursuers; three men that ran a casino scam. They rigged the machines so that they had the greater share of the win-lose ratio. This chase was merely the by product of the thief teaching them a lesson. That and the fact that he wanted his money back.
The cat and mouse chase brought the thief to two paths, he had to make a quick choice where to go. The sound of trash cans turning over and loud voices signified that the men where close.
Okay... Left or right? Left...right. He weighed in a childish manner, not taking the situation to seriously.
Suddenly the two thugs came from an alley at a frightening speed both bearing unamused faces. The thief unsure about the path he should take, turned right. The men seemed to be putting that much more effort into catching the thief. He felt in his gut that something was wrong. Before he made the final steps to enter the alley adjacent to the one he was in, he thought: wait? Two men? Where is the thir—
Before he could finish that thought, a gleaming silver object swung from behind the wall of the intersecting alley. It was a sword, coming towards the thief with tremendous force. It was heading for his face! The thief slightly shifted his body causing the sword to slightly graze his cheek. The thief fell to the ground and rolled in an attempt to catch his balance. He turned around, seeking a chance to evade the men, but a spontaneous flame erupted in his path.
"No where to run, this right here is your epic end," said one of the thugs; stepping forward. His eyes were glowing and his arms caught a blaze. The other men followed him as he slowly approached the thief. "Hand over the money and I'll make your death swift," he said with a look of triumph on his face.
So he's a mutant huh? The thief thought as he wiped away the blood on his cheek.
"You know... the thing with epic stories..." The thief uttered as he slowly reached for his waist, hidden by his hooded cloak. The men subtly tried to surround him. Silence swept the alleys as the four stood motionlessly observing each other. Sweat fell from the face of the men, not knowing what would happen next.
"...They usually end with a bang!" The thief exclaimed; throwing the tail of his cloak to the side.
"Fool," said the mutant. She swung his hand causing an explosion is the alley. Debris flew as a result of the destructive force.
"You got him boss!" Said the man with the sword.
The boss seemingly please with being praised, dropped his guard. Suddenly an object emerged from the smoke with fierce speed. It wrapped around the leader's neck tightly, so much so that he fell to his knees. The sound of slow footsteps dominated the alley as the silhouette of the thief slowly emerged from the smoke.
"Not exactly the bang I was talking about," the thief said.
"Why you little—" exclaimed the man with the sword as he charged towards the thief, with the aid of his partner.
The armed man swung the sword wildly at the thief. With great precision he evaded every single attack. Out of frustration the armed man swung the sword vertically with little technique, the thief dodged the attack and seamlessly glided beside the shocked man. The thief held his face and tripped him from behind; slamming him into the ground. With one hand on the overwhelmed man's face the thief cartwheeled away from him, distancing him self from his approaching partner— chain in hand. The thief then approached the man at full speed. He pounced on the neck of the approaching thug and threw him to the ground with great skill. He then manoeuvred him into a tight hold restricting hands and then constricted them with his chain. While from behind the thief notice, the mutant slowly struggling to his feet, while choking.
"Don't get any ideas!" The thief said. He whipped the chain; the wave traveled to the leader, causing his head to violently hit the ground. He slowly walked over to the leader, he could hear the footsteps approaching, the uncertainty of his fate drove fear into his heart.
"So what were you saying...bout the epic 'end' I mean," thief said finding the situation amusing.
But suddenly, from behind the swordsman leaped at the thief with a fierce surprise attack. He drove the sword with the intention of hitting him in chest, however, he pierced the thief's shoulder instead.
"Ugh!" The thief yelled.
"You let your guard down— you cocky bastard... Now you die!" The swordsman shouted.
The swordsman drove the sword deeper into the thief flesh, inflicting excruciating pain. But then something happened... there was a light. It was radiating from the thief himself. The thief slowly held onto the blade, "die... not today."
"Brilliance!" He shouted. There was a sudden explosion of light in the alley, the suns were outshone by its brilliance. The swordsman slowly levitated and was violently push back by the sudden eruption of force. The alley trembled as everything was flung away by the great power. When the smoke cleared the men were scattered like rags. Only one remained conscious— the leader.
The thief jumped to the roof of a nearby building, with the use of his awakened ability, in a flash. He stood at the edge of the roof and looked down at the mutant leader.
"I will get you for crossing me you thief," the shouts of a truly enraged man.
"Not in this reality," said the thief as he turned away, and at that very moment he felt a sharp shocking sensation in his head. He held his forehead in order to cope with the sudden pain, which faded shortly. After what was a quick recovery, the thief press on with his evasive endeavors.

The thief jumped from roof to roof, in an attempt to get as far away as possible from the scene. He checked his waist to verify that he still had his prize. A bag of Zen— this is the primary currency in the world these days, they can get you just about anything, including killed.
The thief was please with hill haul this job. However something felt wrong. His head started to spin.
Random thoughts began to spiral wildly in his mind; memories of another existence. This is my reality. Abby! Disappointment. What will I tell my parents. I'm so lonely. This reality of mine, filled with pain and emptiness. Cheater huh? The thoughts raged on for about a minute. The thief held his head, trying to cope with the unbearable pain.
"Ugh!"
The thoughts the grew silent. Then one single reigned dominant. This reality. I'd trade it... For anything.
The thief then began to glitch and dissemble into green binary code. His screams filled the air. He lost focus, stepping backwards to his fall. As he fell he broke in to pieces and reassemble in mid air.
System: "New player logged on, player 141."
The thief was no more. The body fell into a garbage bin in the alleys. After the full reassemble process was complete, it revealed the face of someone we know all to well...
System: "Welcome Player : Shawn_the_Epic."
