Aaron was still in shock, on his chair, with time still aside, he turned his gaze towards his table, the little wooden box was still in front of him, a small light gleam started, Aaron felt a heavy gaze at him as he started reaching at it, feeling a chill run all around his body the moment he opened it, sparks kept escaping from the deepest part of the box, the moment he took it with his hand, time resumed, a lonely stone remained inside.
-Hello -A sweet voice sopoke in front of Aaron, he knew the voice. -Have you been waiting long? -Katie walked at the table sitting in front of him.
-Not really -Aaron answered unsure of what was happening.
Both of them ordered, just as if everything was normal, night kept going.
-So, what is in the box? -Katie asked curious.
-I have no idea –He had forgotten about it, the box was still there, static on the table, he knew what was inside, yet, he had no idea of its actual use.
Katie did not hesitated opening it, her eyes shining in a beautiful shade of purple as it met the light inside.
Aaron closed his eyes, unknowing what would happen next, stressful seconds passed and yet, nothing happened.
-You look too much stressed for such a little thing -He opened his eyes at her and looked inside the small container.
-A ring?! -Aaron was surprised as Katie took it out and measured it around her index finger; it was made of some shining silver like material taking the form of a flower around amber.
As she put it on something happened, her eyes turned a dark shade of grey, the ring shining on what seemed like a bubble that started forming around both of them apparently no one else noticed, as they appeared to be ignored.
Aaron was confused; there it was for the first time he saw into the box, but, what was happening now was even more puzzling, his hand ached, looking back at it, small crystal shards started forming over it, as the bubble finally closed over them.
-¡¡Yes!!- Katie’s shout made him return to matter.
-What?
-I see now, I see everything!!!
Aaron was even more confused now; he tried reaching her hand, but something stopped him, the bubble, an amber hand formed from it stopping it on the act.
Aaron couldn’t believe it, such power, he studied physics and science, and what kept happening was unprecedented and defying every logical rule.
-You have to see this –Katie’s word were weird even for him, she turned to the ring, the bubble expanded, or contracted, the space in the bubble got bigger, but he could still see everything exactly the same outside.
The bubble started leaking amber drops, Aaron tried not to touch any, and then he noticed it.
-A MAP!!!
It looked more clear as big as it got, it was a universal map, the he started noticing something else, as amber planets started turning a diferent colors, small images appeared around, mostly drawings and paintings, yet, they appeared to be very old.
Katie returned to her normal self normal, the bubble had already started shrinking, leaving the colored planets floating around, they got nearer to them, Katie was too weak to stay awake.
Aaron carried her, the planets finally in front of him depicted drawings of civilizations, none of them conected between them, he took one in order to watch.
The moment it felt it on his hand it stopped moving and fall down.
The crash broke it.
"This is it", a voice sounded in my head.
-What?!
I turned around in return, but there was no one.
"It´s me, I mean, you . . . just take them, and go home"
I did as said, and took each and every planet, as each passed through my hands I could see the small images on them, people, places and objects I had never seen, the bubble finally popped and dissolved into the ground.
Everything was in its place, when I turned to look for Katie she was unconscious on her seat.
-Kate? –I moved her.
She slowly came to herself, small drops of red fall of her nose, it was bleeding, though she hasn’t realized of it.
-What happened?
-You fainted –I reached towards her, the moment I took her face to touch the blood it slowly returned back to her nose. –Just before we left.
-We were going already?
-We were going to study for tomorrow exam.
-Uh, right.
They returned to their dorms, at the base floor Akira was starting to gather his things in order to leave, when we came in.
-Aaron, can I talk to you? –Akira`s voice sounded important.
-Don’t worry for me, go. –Katie entered in the elevator before he could do anything.
Aaron walked to Akira.
-So, I believe you`ve been getting along with your roommate.
-Well... –Akira continued before anything.
-Well, I believe there is something else, isn’t it? –He took something out of his red jacket.
-What is that?
-A memory of an old friend, I believe he was supposed to give it to you.
Akira took a step back.
-Wait, what and disappeared in smoke, Aaron retuned to the elevator and back to his room.
When he entered Katie was already asleep in the couch, he carried her to her room, it was too dark and late, and he didn`t want to bother her, so he just left her in the bed and left.
Aaron was tired too, hoping to study the next day he stepped into his room and placed both, Katie`s box and Akira`s on the desk before falling on the bed himself.
“He is here”
The words stayed in his mind for as long as he stayed awake.
Aaron fall asleep.
