(Aiden's POV)
I walked into the school as per usual with my 4 closest friends Dylan, Alex, Cameron, and Hunter not too far behind me. I had known the four of them ever since I was born. Alex and Cameron were identical twins so most people get them mixed up but I could always tell from the very beginning which was which. Dylan and Hunter on the other hand found out recently that they were mated to each other and can't seem to keep their hands off of each other.
I headed to my locker as Alex and Cameron talked about something probably completely random. Dylan and Hunter on the other hand were running off to an empty hallway so that they would have 'privacy' while sucking faces. I rolled my eyes at them and grabbed my supplies to start my day.
"It's 7:00 in the morning and they're already going at it. I don't know how someone can have that hungry of a sex drive." I heard Alex say as Cameron snickered.
It took a little bit of persuasion but we eventually got Hunter and Dylan off of each other long enough to tell them that we were heading to class. We walked together into Mrs. Limberg's class as everyone stared at us like we were a piece of meat. It was quite annoying actually.
I sighed and pulled out my notebook once I was in my seat. As soon as the teacher started talking, I put my head down on my desk and drifted off.

It was a couple minutes after the bell rang when I heard the door open. I took one look up and saw that it was someone I had never seen before.
Easy on the eyes, was the first thought that popped in my head as I took in the new face. He was fidgeting as he spoke to the teacher, not very good at communicating with others. Suddenly a weird feeling started stirring in my chest as I watched his hands instinctively start wringing around his wrist. I had never felt this feeling before. It was almost like a burning feeling but it wasn't painful. In fact, I felt my body inviting the harsh sting of the flames in my chest.
I don't feel good guys. Something's happening. My chest is burning. I said through our pack mind-link. I didn't think this was normal.
Really? Is it heartburn? Cameron asked, a worried edge in his voice. I shook my head, feeling his eyes on me.
Oh. My. God. Dylan said, dragging out each word. Who? Who is it? Oh my god, I can't believe it!
Do you feel it when you look at a specific person? The new boy maybe? Hunter's mocking tone rang in my head making me roll my eyes.
I don't know, it didn't start happening until the new kid came in. I snapped, getting annoyed that they weren't taking this seriously. I didn't feel right, something was wrong.
My mind went silent, for once no one had anything to say. They all seemed too stunned to say anything. I guess they were seeing something I wasn't.
Aiden if your feeling a burning sensation in the center of your chest, it can only mean one thing... Hunter said calmly, for once not being sarcastic.
What? What is it? Just tell me! I said, getting annoyed at the suspense they were leaving me in.
You found your mate! Dylan all but blurted out before Hunter could. He started cheering, telling me how happy he was for me.
My thoughts were interrupted when I saw the new kid, my supposed mate, walk past me and slide into the seat behind Hunter. His scent was so intoxicating. It was hard to focus now that I knew my mate was sitting only two seats behind me. My mate. My destined partner. My true love. My one and only. Two seats behind me.
Your mate is putting his head down, do you think he feels the connection too? Alex asked.
I don't know. He is a half bunny so I don't think he would feel the pull as strong as a wolf does. He doesn't seem to realize anything yet. I answered back.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see! Dylan chirped excitedly. I could hear the smile in his voice as he kicked my seat from beside me.
I rolled my eyes and did my best to ignore their annoying voices that kept invading my thoughts.

The bell rang and I was about to leave the classroom when I felt a strange internal tugging towards a certain sleepy bunny in the back corner of the classroom. I watched as Jayden was hugged, more like tackled by some cat. I felt Cameron and Alex tense up beside me as they also looked in my mate direction. Their eyes, however, were on my mates friend.
I smirked and ruffled the twins hair, recognizing their agonized feelings as they stared longingly at the oblivious cat.
"I guess today is a good day for all of us." I muttered as I watched my mate converse with his friend. I saw him smile and it made my heart skip a beat. I wish he would do that more often but most of all I wish I was the reason for that smile.
Suddenly he looked up, making eye contact with me. He visibly shivered as I stared into his pink, almost red eyes.
I tore my eyes away from him and walked out of the classroom before anything got too intense.
"I'm so happy for you guys!" Dylan gushed as he hung onto Hunters arm. The three of us thanked him before going our separate ways.
Alex, Cameron, and I all walked together to our second period as Hunter and Dylan went to theirs.
I had another class with my mate and it left me feeling giddy inside.
Sage, Alex and Cameron's mate, talked to Jayden the whole class period.
This school year was going to be good.
