(Sage's POV)
Livid. Seething. No word fit the rage I felt. Someone hurt my Jay. I slammed my hand into the steering wheel as I waited behind a car stopped at a red light. I didn't have time for this. Jayden was in pain and here I was sitting at a damn red light, being the good Samaritan that I was trying so hard to be.
I took a deep breath to calm myself. If I got pulled over by a cop because I ran a red light, I wouldn't be able to get Jayden help at all.
As I calmed down, the light turned green and I sped out of there as legally as possible.
I skidded into a parking spot, probably taking up two but not caring at the moment, before unbuckling myself and scooping up Jayden again, running inside the hospital as fast as I could. When Ii explained the severity of the Jayden's injuries to a doctor passing by, she immediately helped us, wheeling away my Jay on a gurney.
Now all I had to do was wait.

While I waited in the waiting room, I texted Aiden what happened. I still didn't completely trust him but I knew Jayden would want him here when he woke up since they were mates.
"Where is he?" He asked as he shook my shoulder a little, worry etched into his face. "How bad was he? Have they said anything on his condition? Do you know who did it?"
Before he could fire off anymore questions, I interrupted him.
"Jayden was taken to room 208, he's being patched up by the doctor now. He was bleeding in a couple places and had what looked like maybe a broken rib but I'm not sure. No one has come out of the room yet for me to ask his condition so I don't know. And yes I know who did it. It was that piece of shit small dick buffoon fuck in our first period." I snapped, feeling my hands ball into fists in my lap.
"I don't have anymore answers than that. He texted me during class telling me to come to him. I found him on the bathroom floor and rushed him to the hospital." I explained, trying to reign in the anger I felt for that sick bastard at school.
Aiden didn't say anything at first, processing everything I said before staring at Hunter and Dylan. They seemed to have a secret conversation on their own before Hunter and Dylan nodded and left the hospital, seeming to have a mission of some sort.
I absently wondered what they were going to do but the worry I felt for Jayden overcame any thought of their whereabouts.

(Aiden's POV)
It was about an hour later since I arrived at the hospital and the doors to Jayden's room finally opened. We all stood up and walked over to the doctor, bombarding him with questions about Jayden.
"Your friend is going to be just fine. He has two broken ribs and some lacerations scattered throughout but nothing that won't heal with time. The biggest issue he will face is resting and eating a nice warm meal, doctors orders. It seems he hasn't been eating right. You guys can see him if you want but you need to make sure you stay quiet and let him rest." The doctor informed us as he began writing something down on a clipboard while walking away.
We quietly walked into the room, making sure not to make too much noise. Looking at him now, with a bunch of wires and tubes hooked up to him made me feel so many things. I was angry at whoever did this but I was also sad that he had to go through this. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose as I tried to clear my head.
My train of thought was interrupted when I heard Alex start messing with Cameron who looked like he was sleeping on the sofa they were sitting on. Sage was sitting in a chair by himself, staring off into space. A few seconds later Alex turned his attention away from his brother and to Sage, saying something to him to make him look up and smile. I had a feeling they would get along with each other quite well.
I grabbed onto Jayden's hand, giving it a little squeeze to let him know I was here. I suddenly felt a very weak squeeze back and looked up to see Jayden's pretty ruby red eyes opened slightly. Anyone could tell by looking at him that he was half asleep again. He had a bad habit of doing that lately.
He groaned and tried to stretch but stopped with a wince.
"Ouch..." He mumbled as he held his ribs. I chuckled to myself at his before kissing his cheek softly.
"Morning Jayden." I said softly. He groaned again and reached his arms out while scrunching and un-scrunching his fingers. He looked like a baby with 'grabby hands' though I don't know what he was reaching for.
"Um I have a question..." He mumbled after regaining his composure. I gave him a little peck on the cheek, so grateful that he was okay. "What exactly are we?"
This question caught me off guard. I seriously thought he already knew my feelings. I wasn't really hiding anything and I was openly affectionate with him.
"I really like you, Jay. I think you already know but I'll say it anyway just so we're clear. We are mates and I really want to be with you, not just because of the connection but because I'm genuinely interested in you. Even if I have to wait for you to develop feelings for me, I'm willing to do anything to make this work. I truly want to be with you, Jayden."
