(Aidens POV)
It was about a week later and the doctor brought Jayden some pain medicine to help with the achy feeling he is guaranteed to feel. Jayden was really worried about his mother since he basically had do everything for her and since Alex and Cameron's dad owned the hospital, they sent a nurse to his house to get her fed, bathed, and properly medicated. She wasn't safe on her own without Jayden there to help her.
I was currently trying to spoon feed Jayden since his knuckles were in pretty bad shape. They would be pretty painful if he tried using them now.
"Jayden you have to eat something." I said as I tried convincing him to let me feed him.
"No, I can do it myself. This is so embarrassing." He mumbled, looking away as pink dusted his cheeks.
Sage came over and took the spoon and cup of applesauce from me before turning Jayden's head towards him.
"If you don't eat this right now I'll tell the doctors to put a catheter in you." He warned with a scary glint in his eyes.
Jayden seemed to be pouting now but did as Sage asked and let him feed him though he was clearly unhappy about it.
My mate was stubborn but it was cute. And his best friend was scary.

I was downstairs talking to Dylan and Hunter about the favor I asked of them.
"How did it go?" I asked, leaning towards them in the cafeteria chair I was sitting in.
"It seems someone beat us to it. When we got back to the school, they looked like someone hit them with cinder blocks. I think one of their noses were broken too." Hunter said in a hushed voice.
I was confused at that. Who would have beat them up? Aside from their secret, not so secret, bullying they didn't do much to other people. Maybe someone saw them hitting my mate and defended him?
My thoughts were interrupted when I saw multiple doctors rushing towards Jayden's room. We all exchanged worried looks before running into his room.
Now what?
Jay was laying in bed, strange symbols started appearing all over his chest as they glowed a blinding white. A thick black smoke emitted from his body making every human in the room drop to the floor, getting knocked unconscious. He then started levitating into the air, his eyes black and glowing.
Large black claws started growing out of his fingernails. When I looked at his face, he seemed to be a different person. This wasn't Jayden, it was something else.
What's happening to him?
Just as quickly as he was levitated was he falling back onto the bed with a light thud.
We all looked at each other, trying to figure out what just happened.
I slowly approached his bed, seeing his eyes were closed and he seemed to be sleeping.
"Jayden?" I softly called as I attempted to shake his shoulder.
Suddenly his eyes snapped open and he slashed his hand out towards me, narrowly missing me with his razor sharp claws.
"Hunter, Dylan, get the humans out of the room." I rushed as I kept an eye on Jayden. Whatever took over him seemed to be running on instincts and didn't trust any of us as he backed into the corner of the room with a warning hiss.
"Jayden, it's me." I said cautiously, holding my hands out in front of me in case he started swinging at me again.
"Jayden, can you hear me?" I asked but as I stepped closer he hissed and swatted at me again. I jumped back but wasn't fast enough. His claws dug into my chest before he jumped back into his corner and let out a loud hiss that made all of us afraid.
As I tried to think of what to do, I notice the glowing symbols on his chest were starting to disappear. My theory was that the symbols made him change so hopefully when they were completely gone, Jayden would be back to normal.
Jayden suddenly went rigid. He hunched over and made this strangled cry before we heard what sounded like bones cracking. He was healing his wounds. The bruises on his skin seemed to all but disappear. Jayden starting panting and the glowing on his chest seemed to ceased.
I dodged another one of his attacks but this angered him. He suddenly disappeared into thin air making us all confused.
I sniffed around the room before feeling three razor sharp claws enter my back. I howled in pain before falling to my knees. Luckily the cuts weren't too deep. I feel like Jayden on the inside is forcing Jayden on the outside to hold back.
Suddenly Jayden fell to the floor, me catching him as he lost the extra appendages. He grunted, opening his eyes slowly to reveal the red eyes I recognized. He looked around the destroyed room before seeing me. He gasped and scooted away from me, trying to figure out what happened.
"What did I..." He mumbled, raising a shaky hand to his head. I hesitate before answering him. I didn't want him to blame himself, he clearly wasn't the one in control.
After a while I nodded, deciding he deserved to know, while looking down at the floor. He started breathing heavily as he hugged himself.
Sage went to go to him but he pushed him away. He pushed all of us away.
"Jayden-" He said, worry clear in his voice.
"Don't touch me! I don't understand what's going on! What happened to me?" He was freaking out now and Ii felt horrible for not being about to answer his questions. We were just as confused as he was and didn't have any answers to give him.
"Jayden you changed. But it wasn't you, you clearly weren't in control. It's not-"
"I still hurt you. If I wasn't so weak, I could have resisted it." He said as he stood up and backed towards the window.
We all jumped up in alert, knowing what he was planning to do.
"I'm so sorry." He whispered before jumping out the window and running off into the trees.
