Game Club's Mega-Quest (Old Novel)

Player Killer

Player Killer

Nov 16, 2018

"So, you accept?" He said as the swords clash.

I jumped backward. "Like hell I will, what's you're problem?"

"My problem? All I want to do is duel you, I don't see anything wrong in that!" He charged forward again.

I sidestepped out of the way. "Calm down there, I don't wanna fight the likes of you!"

"You have no choice!" He charged again, too fast for me to dodge so I blocked it again with my Rapier.

"Allan, are you alright?" Nia asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine, but this kid.."

"Who're you calling kid?!" He kicked me in the leg and I fell over.

"Agh, that's dirty." I said while wiping the dirt off of my face.

"Playing dirty allows me to win!" He was getting ready to kick me again, but did one of me renowned 'signature moves'.

I aim my Rapier up toward his face and stood up very quickly and charged forward. In a split second I had him pull a reflex and he darted backward. He couldn't keep his balance and he fell backward on his back. I placed my blade under he chin and stood over him.

"If you're gonna challenge me to a duel, at least have some virtue. You're pathetic." I glanced at his level next to his username. "Joey huh? For a high level player to be bested by a level 1? Isn't that quite interesting."

"W-what? I have no been bested yet!" He stuttered.

"Ah hey guys! I finally made it back after I respawned in the city." I could hear Trevor call out to me from behind.

"Huh? Allan? What're you doing?" Trevor asked.

I turned my head. "Beating this kid to a pulp."

"What? What did he do to you?"

I turned my torso toward him. "He decided it would be a good idea to attack me out of nowhere."

"Ha! You're distracted!" This 'Joey' kid pulled out a knife and threw it at me.

"Allan watch out!" Nia screamed.

I couldn't avoid it and I got cut on the cheek as the knife flew by. I jumped backward off of him and he got straight back up.

He pointed at me and started laughing. "Ha! You never take your eyes off of your opponent in battle!"

I walked backward toward Trevor and Nia while keeping eye contact with him.

"What should I do? I hate to admit it, but he's got tricks." I asked.

"Well, there's not much we can do. He's higher level than you, level 14. He's one of those players." Trevor said.

"Those?" I asked.

"There's always that one player who picks on the weak low leveled ones. They kill low leveled players for fun, player killers is what they're called."

"Well, I can beat him even though he's higher level, I just proved that. He's all force and dirty tricks, but I've done well against him up until now."

"Well, since I'm level 10 I guess I have the best chance of beating him." Trevor stepped forward.

"Oh, and who's this? Asking for help from your friend huh?" Joey taunted us.

"Players like you are the epitome of trash, take on someone your own size. Or in this case, level. I've noticed your patterns up until now, you're a thief class aren't you?" Trevor asked.

"Why would I reveal my class to you? You think I'll answer that question? Looks like you'll have to do more investigating!" He pulled two large daggers out of sheaths on his back. He charged forward to Trevor.

"Big mistake!" Trevor pulled a huge sword out of basically thin air.

Joey jumped high in the air and raised his arms over his head with his daggers facing downward. He started falling down very fast and was aiming to probably jab the daggers in his shoulders. Trevor swiped his sword up and a bright beam appeared in the shape of his slash and starting flying upward adjacent to Joey. Joey got hit by it and he lost his composure. Let go of his knives and started gripping his torso where the cut had been made and hit the ground with a loud thud.

I started running toward Joey and pulled out my Rapier. I kept put the tip of the blade at his neck again.

"That's not fair! You're doing two against one!" He shrieked.

"N-not fair?!" I was honestly amazed at his stupidity. "You dare say it's not fair when you decide to attack two level 1 players? I'll kill you right here!"

"Wait please! It made a mistake, honest!" He tried to grab the blade of the Rapier.

"Get your filthy hands off of my Rapier!" I yanked it out of his hands, and it cut his fingers.

"Hey I swear I won't do anything! I'll run away, I'll do it right now!" He started running in the opposite direction of us and deeper into the forest.

"Sigh, well Allan, would this be considered a PVP victory?" Trevor asked.

"Technically. But it's no victory to me." I answered.

"Guys, you were so amazing! I could never do that! Allan is only level 1, how could you do so well against someone so high level?" Nia asked a bombardment of questions.

"Well, I'm sure Allan is more humble than that. Let's head back shall we?" Trevor started leading the way.

We started walking back to Eindorf, and all seemed fine until...

"Wait. Someone's following us." I mentioned.

"Huh?" Trevor turned around to ask, but froze in fear.

"What?" Nia turned around too, and had the same reaction.

I finally turned around. "You know we're in wide open trail, I can hear your footsteps. Oh and would you look at that? You were so helpless against us that you went to ask for help from your friends?" Joey had shown up, but with about ten people.

"Ha! I told my guild about you! About how you were merciless and beating me down even until I was begging for mercy!" Joey taunted once again.

A bigger guy came up to us. "So, you attacked a member of 'Roman Reich' eh? What do you have to say for yourselves?"

"For one, he attacked us. Why would two level 1 player attack a level 14 player?" I replied.

"Is that so?" He shoved Trevor's shoulder. "Then who's this blonde kid that's level 10?"

Trevor crossed his arms. "For the record, I came to help my friends who were outmatched for him."

"Yeah, could you please leave us be?! He's the one who attacked us!" Nia said while pointing at Joey.

The big guy turned around and looked at Joey. "Is this all true?"

"Of course not! You'd believe them over your own precious guild mate?" Joey asked in a fake saddened tone.

"Of course not boy! I've never met these kids, let's take em down shall we!" He put his fist up. The rest of the guild members yelled a loud war cry. They're barbarians I tell you.

"Wait, please we were only defending ourselves!" Trevor begged.

"Sorry, but we got a bro code pact sort of thing where we all have each other's backs. Can't break the rules unfortunately." He pulled out a large axe.

"Fire!" Nia screamed out of nowhere.

"Nia! No!" Trevor tried to stop her.

All of the guild members started burning and started screaming. Nia also fainted.

"Crap, Allan take her back, I can deal with them." Trevor said.

"Tch, no way. You couldn't handle a pack of wolves."

"But who can handle a pack of wolves?!"

"We got this. We did Joey in already, now they're on fire and distracted. We can do this. Just do your slash thing." I said.

"I'll pass out too you know!"

"Well, good luck." I charged in, impaling on of the guys with light clothing instead of armor. He died on the spot, not only because of the impale but also because he was on fire.

"Allan! You're too reckless!" Trevor put Nia down lightly and pulled out his big sword. "Rrraaaahh!" He slashed the sword in the air and a large red beam started slashing toward me.

It went straight through me, no damage. But it did a lot of damage to the guys who were on fire. I'd say more than half of them died. And as I looked back to check, Trevor passed out as well.

As I turned back around, the big guy was charging me with his axe. As he jumped and tried to land a hit, I dashed forward under him. As he had the axe hit the ground he turned around and dragged his axe to try and hit me from behind. I jumped up and thrusted the Rapier into his eye. He screeched in pain and I took the Rapier out, and then I kicked him leg joint and he fell over. On fire and impaled eye.

"Sorry not sorry." I said.

At this point there were three guys left, and Joey was one of them. He threw off his flaming cape and sneered at me.

"Maybe it's too late to say this, but you aren't bad for a noob." He said. Putting a lot of emphasis on the word noob.

"I don't know what that means, and I won't thank you either." I said.

"Get him!" Joey cried out.

Two of them went at me at once, with incredible speed too. Is this the thief class Trevor was talking about?

"You can't handle three on one!" Joey started running at me too.

He's right, I can't. I continued to sidestep every one of the attacks, but I started slowing down out of stamina loss. Eventually, one got me in the chest. He jabbed his dagger at my chest and I heard a 'clang' as the dagger hit my chestplate. I take back what I said about it being uncomfortable and useless. I fell over and all three of them stared at me.

"End of the line." One of them said.

"Not yet!" I heard a voice say.

One of them fell over, and I could see a knife jabbed into his lower back. I looked to where the stab could have come from, and I saw Bridget.

"Allan, good to see you! I see you've gotten yourself into quite the dilema!" She said in her perky voice.

"Who's this girl?!" One of the guys asked.

"Oh me? I'm just a friend of his." She looked at me. "As soon as I logged in, Trevor gave me an emergency message. He gave me the low down, I also gave him and Nia some elixirs as well!" She bragged.

"E-elixirs?!" Joey and the guy asked at the same time.

"Yes, that's right. In fact, we've basically surrounded you by now." Bridget said as she adjusted her glasses.

I got up and looked around, Trevor and Nia were in fact standing with us surrounding these two.

"Now you can surrender nicely, or you can get your heads bashed in." She cracked her knuckles. "What'll it be boys?"

"W-we surrender!" They both said.

"Good, now run along and I never want to see you near my friends ever again? Okay?"

They both nodded. "Yes ma'am!" And ran off. But before we could lose sight, Joey ran back.

"T-this isn't over! I hereby declare myself your eternal rival! I will defeat you one day! And it will be solo! Allan!" Joey said to me.

"Buzz off, I don't care." I said while rolling my eyes.

"Yes. Do that right now." Bridget cracked her knuckles a second time, which shouldn't even be possible.

Joey ran off.

"Well, Allan you sure are good at video games for someone who had never touched one." Bridget said.

"What? I haven't done anything impressive."

"Don't lie Allan! You told me how you used to do fencing. I know you used some techniques didn't you?" Nia asked.

"Huh? Fencing? When did he tell you?" Trevor asked.

"H-huh? Uh, h-he didn't. I was making that up." Nia looked down at the ground.

"Um, okay, anyway.. I do agree that you did some extraordinary things there, what's your secret?" Trevor asked.

"Secret? What're you talking about? None of what I did was fencing techniques. I just moved and let the adrenaline control my body." I said.

"Really?" Trevor started scratching his chin. "Strange."

"Well, we all know that we have a talented one among the game club! I'm very happy to have met you Allan!" Bridget patted my shoulder.

I pushed her hand off. "Keep your hands to yourself, you just stabbed a man, I don't want his blood on my shoulder."

"Oopsie, I forgot of your pet peeve!" She moved her hand.

"Well, why not grind for a bit? You guys could use some levelling? Allan, why don't you show us your skills on the field? Maybe fight some wolves again?" Trevor nudged my shoulder.

"Sigh, fine."
