“I can't believe those two bone heads actually did that!” having our cup of coffee this morning, Maggie said while we were laughing hysterically.
“I know I know John and Lucas are something else right.” After wiping a tear from me eyes, I change the subject. “Anyway, what were you up to last night, another date with your mystery man?”
“Maybe, you may never know if you keep giving me those suggestive eyes. I think he might actually be the one.” She starts to stare off into the distance.
Waving a hand in front of her face, I say “Hello, earth to Maggie, we are still in the coffee shop. When will you tell me something, anything about this man?”
“When I am more sure about him. Anyway what about your mystery girl, Ceceile? Anything new with her.” I give her a suspicious look for changing the subject.
“You know, I will know about him whether you tell me now, or I find it out myself later.” She gives me her innocent smile. Sighing i answer her question. “I got her to tell me some personal thing about her. I think she is starting to put a little bit of trust in me. But there was something I was very confused about, she talked about bonds that tie you to life, do you know anything about that?”
“Ahhh the physical and spiritual bonds, I am surprised she knew about those, they kinda disappeared from a normal person's mind in the latest generations. The physical bond connects to your left hand, it is also called the red string of fate. It is said that it connects you to your soul mate. It's the reason you put the wedding ring on your left hand, people used to believe that the string would loosen when you are close so they put something on so that it would stay.”
“Huh, that's interesting, but what about the spiritual bond? What does it connect you to?”
“that is something that does not have a concrete theory, some say it connects you to your emotions, if it get severed your emotions go crazy, some say it connects to your immortality, it gets cut when you find your soulmate, lastly, it connects you to god, so you can find your way to him when you die. There are many others, not one big consensus like on the physical bond.”Looking at me confused, she asks me a question. “Why did she bring this topic up any way?”
Sighing, I slump back in my seat. “I don't know why she brought it up, but I bet I know somebody who know what that bond ties you too”
“You don't think, I mean how could she? If the entire world can't find a consensus, how could she know? Surprised by my assumption she gives me a dubious look.
“I don't know how she could, but everything inside of me is telling me she knows a lot more than she's letting on and I will either get her to tell me soon or find it out myself later .
