Standing in the church dressed all in white

looking at my fiancé we’re both doing alright

the priest says what we need to say

if only we both didn’t slip away

if we only kept to the promises we made

maybe together we could have stayed

maybe then we could’ve had a daughter or a son

maybe we could’ve worked together like one

one mind, one heart

but that didn’t happen because you broke us apart

you ruined the life you could’ve had

and now you went and made me so very sad

all we seem to do is fight

our feelings that cloud our mind

how can the man I loved become my greatest foe?

what happened to ‘through sickness and health’

to ‘poverty or wealth’

did you forget what you promised to me?

that together we’d always be?

that you’d hold my hand when I needed you most

now you just haunt my heart like some twisted ghost

I want a divorce and I think you’d agree

because it’d be heaven on earth to be rid of me

sign the paper and say your good byes

for this is the last time you can look into my eyes

you were not the one for me
