Coma Keeper

Five

Five

Nov 12, 2018

After the 30minute incident. The warning and proof to world leader's that they were not untouchable. Government policies of humanitarian and egalitarian natures were quickly being enacting one after another. And not just in the countries of the five attacked leaders but everywhere.

None of the five heads of state attributed their new policies to their #30minNap. Desperate to not reveal they were weak and afraid.

Smaller nations did not have this pretense, citing the coma weapon directly as their reasoning for pausing their open corruption, wars, persecution, genocides, toxic dumping, hunting of endangered animals, human trafficking, drug use criminalization... anything they thought—or knew—was an abuse of power.

Not that they had meaningfully changed. They would wait on the five countries to act. It would be business as usual once the threat had passed.

US intelligence tried to coordinate it's investigation with the intelligence agencies of the other impacted governments but to no avail. Even supposed US partners, Israel and Saudi Arabia, were unwilling to share the information the US wanted about their heads of state and families.

One issue was the suspicion that the US might be merely playing investigator to an incident they were responsible for. Even assuming that were not the case, did they want to help an investigation that may lead to the US gaining the technology?

Government cooperation was seemingly impossible.

If only there were a trustworthy third-party. Someone well known for solving difficult cases. A person who's allegiances were not to any government, political ideal. Someone with an easily quantifiable motivation, like money.

Within weeks, Frank was hired as a consultant by all five governments. The title "consultant" made it seem a small position but nothing could be further from reality. Frank was now the lead investigator and central coordinator of a penta-government investigation.

And soon enough Frank had made a breakthrough...

Frank:
-leaving aside mike, we have a common element to the other 4 cases...
-1) the son of a close family friend to xi
-2) the hairdresser of benjamin's daughter
-3) the girlfriend of arkady, who is in vlad's inner circle
-4) the first cousin of mbs
-all these connections had blood samples sent to LabCorp over the previous year
