Catherine parts the blind cover over. The scorching sunlight turn her fair skin scarlet rose; but she heed not of such a thing. It is normal for her family to experience such a thing out on the daylight. The outside world is very beautiful. The forest was green with joy, birds singing high with their voice, and flowers dancing with the winds. Catherine smile warmly. The red burn on her hand slowly blushed a deeper crimson red.
Today is the day of her meeting with her betrothed.
Catherine sign.
Rumors has it that he’s a ruthless tyrant. If his words are not heard; he will have your head. On top of that, his looks aren’t of a handsome prince from the drawing her father showed her the week before. What he embodies is power, status, and money. Of such a thing, Catherine’s family lust for. Why couldn’t her father just marry the man, if he admires him so much?
Catherine slowly let the blind glide close.
In the corner of her eyes, she got a quick glimpse of a black shadow with horns. Startled, Catherine look again, parting the blind wider.
Her heart beats faster.
Nothing.
Catherine closes the blind. Her red hand slide over her temple. A lot is happening lately and it causes her severe stress. She’s afraid to talk to her family because... because... because...
‘I don’t want to grow up.’ She whispered under her breath. For heavens sake, she is only 12 years old. What is all of these talks about marriage and betrothal?
The carriage galloped abruptly as soon as the horse stumble upon some sharp rocks on the road. Catherine adjust the thin silk wrap over her face. She had trouble breathing for a while.
