Entering the door key I turned and heard a click. Pulling out the key I drop them in my purse and plodded into my car, my back ached like an old woman.
Getting into my car I turned the ignition the engine turned on with a soft purr, driving in the quiet calmed my mind, letting the thoughts flow through my brain was something I could only do when I was alone in complete silence or darkness.
Five minutes later I park into my parking lot and turn off the car. Walking into my front door I was immediately greeted by my white cat, she rubbed my legs mewing for food.
Walking into the kitchen, the cold atmosphere submerges me as I see the note on the counter, reading it my heart sank "I can't make it tonight I have some business to take care of, just save some food in the fridge," I wrinkled the note and threw it into the trash it was a habit of my boyfriend he always ditched me when it was supposed to be a night with the two of us. It was his fifth time, I'm sick of it. Pulling my phone out of my pocket I dialed his number, the phone rang for seemed like minutes.
He finally picked up his voice raspy and fatigued, " Who is it?" He said his voice fading into a sleepy trance. " Who else could it be?" I said, " It's your fifth time dissing me out like this!" I said in a frustrated way. " I'm sorry babe, I just had some urgent business to take care of," He said, I could tell he was hiding something from me. " I'll talk to you tomorrow," He said hanging up
I hung up and threw my phone on the kitchen counter, I am done with his bull crap. Walking out of the kitchen I storm into my room like a little girl.
I walk into the bathroom and undress, there's no reason to get this upset by a man that didn't respect me. Getting into the shower I turn on the water and stand there letting the water soak into my pale white skin.
Minutes of just standing in the shower I get out and wrap myself in a towel.
I was too tired to get ready for bed so I slept in just a towel letting my wet skin touch the cold bed sheets...
Waking up in the early morning was a pain, my hair a mess, my body cold and shivering from the lack of blankets. I had slept in just a towel not bothering to dry myself off letting the sheets to be soaked and my pillow soggy from the amount of water is consumed. Sitting up from my bed I yawn with emotion and stand up, my head feeling light and dizzy. Walking into my closet I pick the simplest outfit there was a T-shirt and sweatpants.
Walking out to my car I notice a woman with black hair sitting at a bench across the street. It was early in the morning and chilly and she had no scarf or jacket, the only thing she had in hand was a small journal and a wooden pencil.
She had small glasses resting on the bridge of her nose, her hair was as black as the night with no moon her skin slightly touched by the sun. From afar I could see her big brown eyes stare intensely at the journal, I looked away almost immediately when she caught my eye. Quickly jumping into my car I start the engine and drive off to work.
Walking through the glass door I was greeted by the many admirers that crowded the seats of the cafe, I ignored the cheerful atmosphere and went to the back and started to work...
Hours later the cafe was about to close, people started to pay and leave and said there last goodbyes to their peers.
A soft bell chime rang from the front of the cafe door, looking up there he was the bastard and with a rose in hand. " Hey, babe I just came to apologize for last night," He said his hand on the back of his hair the rose in the other. " Why are you here?" I said as I wiped a cafe table.
" Well I just wanted to give you this rose for an apology," He said repeating what he just said. " And what are you apologizing for?" I said ready to lash out on him. " For ditching you, I had some urgent business to deal with," He said obviously lying.
" And what was the business you supposedly call urgent?" I said as I started to harshly wipe the table. " That's uh, it's something that I can't say, my boss, is strict." He says as if he's gullible enough to think that I was to believe him.
" Hey, babe are we going or not?" A woman said from the glass door her head poking in. She must have been the reason why he ditched out on me. He looked back at the woman and could tell he was scared shitless. He knew what I was like mad, and right now I was boiling with anger. " GET OUT!" I screamed as I ran at him pushing his chest causing him to stumble back, " GET OUT, JUST DIE I HATE YOU," I screamed my voice shaking from anger. Swinging my arms around I grabbed whatever was in reach and threw it at him not caring if it hit him or not. My tears blurred out my vision causing me to fall onto some glass that broke when I threw a glass at a wall missing his head.
Without thinking twice he ran out leaving me on the ground with glass in my hands and arms. Sitting up I look at the floor, blood dripping onto the hardware floor, I grabbed a piece of glass and held it against my arm. Seconds later a bell chimed," Oh my god, are you ok?!" A voice said from behind me, a woman with black hair and brown eyes stared at me with worry and panic. " What happened here?" She said as she set a book down and kneeled next to me. " Hey, are you ok?" She said, " Will you talk to me?" She said her hand wiping a tear off my face. I just sat there staring at her, my voice couldn't come out. I just sat there more tears coming from my eyes. " Here, you stay here." She said as she ran out of the door.
Coming back she had a first aid in hand, kneeling back down she pulled tweezers out and picked the small glass from my arms. " I wouldn't cut myself with glass, it's dangerous and irrational," She said as calmly taking the piece of glass from my hand. " I-it hurts," I said words finally forming my throat. " Well, that's why you shouldn't be so careless." She said, " Also, I saw the whole thing, that guy really is a jerk," She says her hands softly wiping away the blood. " It may look like you need stitches," she said as she examined a big gash in my palm.
Noticing the gash I started breathing heavy my mind going into panic mode. " Hey, hey, it's okay, I'll fix it," She says her eyes fixated on mine. Pulling away she looks through the first aid and picks up a needle and thread, I suddenly jolt back. I hated needles, they gave me a strong feeling of fear and panic. " Hey, I need to stitch this or else it won't heal," She said holding the needle up. " Just relax and close your eyes, It'll be quick I promise," She said with an assuring smile that warmed my cheeks.
I slightly nodded as I slowly scooted closer to her. " Here bite down on this, its gonna hurt," She said, " How is that supposed to help!" I yell, " Just trust me okay?" She said as she picked up a small pair of glasses from her pocket. " bite down on this," She said shoving a rag into my mouth. Doing as she says I bite down hard as I feel the first feeling of pain as she starts to stitch up my hand.
Seconds later the little operation ended, my hands shaking from the adrenaline. " Hey, it's over, you can relax now," She said her soft voice calming my frantic heart. " Here, I'm gonna wrap up your hand, and you go sit down as I clean up this place," She says her delicate brown eyes gazed into mine. I slightly nod and wait for her to finish clothing my hand with a thin cloth. " And, done!" She says as she smiles. " Here," She says as she digs through her back pocket and pulls out a small sucker. She smiles as I shyly take the sucker from her hand. " What's your name?" She said as she watched me unwrap the sucker and pop it into my mouth. " Angelique," I said, " That's a lovely name," She says commenting on my name. " W-whats your name," I said bashfully, " Emily," She says, " Emily Stone," She says responding to my proposal.
A moment of silence fills the air as we stare at each other. She then stands up holding my shoulder and arm as she props me up to my feet, " Here, sit here, don't worry about the mess," She says as she sits me down on the cafe chair. " Thanks, a lot," I said my voice still full with grief.
I sat there for a while as I watched Emily sweep up broken glass, wipe up spilled drinks and mop up a small puddle of blood. It was like she was getting rid of all the evidence of a murder scene, watching her move so swiftly was almost staggering, her movements were flawless. " Oh goodness look at the time!" Emily said all a sudden breaking me from my trance. Looking at the clock a sprang up from my seat, it read 10:58. " I have to get home, sorry for leaving so suddenly," She said as she gathered her journal and ran out.
Standing in silence I glared at the clock, I don't want to go back home alone...
