Leaving the cave through a tunnel on our right, we walked for a while until I could faintly hear running water. “What’s that?” I asked, with my ears perked.
Apollo nodded and said, “That’s the cavern. We’re getting close.” I followed him with Artemis behind me until we entered a gorge so large a stream was falling down, down, down until water crashed down so far below, you could barely hear it. Along the right and left, dozens of smaller caves lined the walls with the light of fire and torches peaking through a little hole in stone, creating a natural window for the dens. Way up above us the sun shone down from its brilliant blue home.
“Hey, Laurel, come on!” Apollo ran out to the waterfalls. Artemis rolled her eyes.
