In the safety of his black Coupe, Alex let out a shaken breath. He ran a hand through his hair and left it resting on the back of his neck.
Alex laughed lightly to himself. ‘I only meant to tease him a little bit.’ He thought. In truth, that was his plan. His patient had requested he not play ‘games’ with him. Alex abided by this simply because of Ivan’s phobia. It didn’t bother Alex in the slightest. He’s had many patients afraid of doctors. The problem was…Ivan was a prude, and much to Alex’s shame; his type. How could Alex not help himself? Out of all the patients he’s had, Ivan was the most enjoyable. His reactions were by far the best for the man blushed so easily. It did well for his cream colored skin, and Ivan had a way of furrowing his brows that was damn near adorable. Alex cursed himself. Even if Ivan was truly mad, Alex just saw it as a child rebelling. It didn’t help that Ivan had the face of a student fresh out of college.
Truth be told, Ivan reminded Alex of his youth. He remembered when he worked himself to death in college. Juggling family life, a job, and school, it only caused Alex to have a nervous breakdown. And a bad one at that. The horror of it was that his parents were not merciful to his condition. For that, he was thankful he had his Grandmother who let him live with her regardless of his parents disappointment. Alex could only call it fate, for if he hadn’t made certain choices he wouldn’t have met Aaron Adon.
Alex moved his hand to his lap and laid his head back on the seat. ‘Am I getting old?’ he thought. He was only thirty-seven and he was reminiscing. Maybe it was Ivan’s influence. When he tried to make the connection, his mind wandered to what had happened a few moments ago. Alex had gotten out of hand with his ‘playing’; he’ll admit that. But the way Ivan was staring at him spurred him on. Both fear and curiosity were present in the man’s hazel eyes. But the fear was slowly snuffed out, and what was left was curiosity and mild anticipation.
Alex groaned. One side of him was kicking himself for acting so ‘unprofessional’ as Ivan would say, and another side wanted to indulge the hazel eyed man’s curiosity. Alex did recall that a way to break a fever is to warm the body to break it. He usually wouldn’t think such a thing, but he is a part of Geo Phobia. Alex wouldn’t mind warming the little secretary to a breaking point.
Alex laughed at himself and started the car. The moment to do that has gone already and he didn’t feel right taking advantage of a sick man anyway. Scratch that last part, it would feel wrong if he took advantage of Ivan.
As Alex drove out of the parking space, in the back of his mind he hoped that maybe another chance like this may arise in the future.
