I spent a good few minutes observing him. He looked so weak. So...weak. There wasn’t any other word that could best describe him. You could see the hollowness of his cheeks and the thinness of his body. He was a walking skeleton. I did tear up a little, and he saw that. I looked away in the end, not wanting to end up crying. So much went through my mind; I wanted to know so much about him. What his life was like, what he has been through? But who was I to ask? Jenny and I sat in silence, appreciating each others company. We both knew we should have said something to that stranger, but we didn’t. What would we say? He didn’t seem like he would be willing to respond. I did glance at him from time to time, and each time he looked like he was in pain. I looked at the shop owner, and he understood. He poured a glass of water, walked over and sat in down on the table that the man was sitting at. You could see it in his face that he needed that. His face just lit up, even if it didn’t really change. The atmosphere did.
