“Why do you even want to find her birth time? What will this help with?” Maggie said while sifting through the papers. “This is going to take all day.”
I asked Maggie to help me find Ceceile's birth time in the town's records. We decided that today would be a good time to do it. “I don't know, I just have a feeling that this will help me know her better, thank you for helping me with this again.”
After a few hours of searching, we started searching two thousand years ago. “Maybe we missed her” Maggie said while skimming through papers.
“I don't think so, let's keep looking” looking through these papers a name catches my attention, Micheal Vincent.
“Oh! I found someone named Ceceile, Ceceile Ash. Oh, but it says she died, sorry for getting your hopes up I will keep looking” disappointed, Maggie starts looking through the other names again.
“Hang on, let me see.” I said, she points out the name and gives me the paper, then starts back up looking through the others. It's the same death date as Micheal, weird. “This is her, something is wrong though, she is definitely not dead.” Looking over at Maggie, I notice she is concentrating very hard on that list, her eyebrow furrowed. “Is something wrong?”
Troubled by something, she starts to speak. “Look at this, the causes of death, there are lots of young people who died because of illness.”
“What? That's impossible, before we meet our soulmate, we are practically immune from dying, much less from an illness”
“Give me a moment, I will see if I can find some charts.” After rummaging through some papers, she comes back. “So according to this chart, deaths regarding sickness was very common until the generation after this. The generation after Ceceile 'died' is when the deaths dropped. I also found a chart which specifies the average life span. It seem to be fairly steady until about the same time which case it starts increasing. It seems what we believe as immortal life spans started about two hundred years after this.”
“lets clean up this mess and go” the only noise was the sound of papers moving about, both of us completely silent. Nobody said it, but we both knew that this had something to do with her, she has something to do with humans becoming immortals.
