Haku and Lina were walking on a path neither of them knew would lead them. “So, why were you in the land of dragons?” asked Haku curious of what a helpless fairy would do in one of the most dangerous lands. “Well for starters.” Lin brought up her story.
“I was in the land of fairies, but then some Gol-Goblins attacked my village. I had to run away, unfortunately, somebody got me, but the person was not evil. He said.” “If you help me with some personal stuff, I will help you with these Gol-Goblins.”
“What is it you want with me?” Lina said. “I want you to use your power and fight beside me and make this world better!” “What do you mean?” “Yes or no”. He said. Haku looked at Lina surprised when she said that. “I was scared that if I said no, he would not only kill the Gol-Goblins but also kill the whole village.” “So, you said yes?”
Lina began crying “y..yes” “Wait, why are you crying?” Lina looked at Haku and said something that would change Haku’s perspective a little. “The man is pure evil, Haku.” Shocked Haku said, “Why?” “I don’t know, he is just evil, his smile, laugh and his eyes, they were scary, Haku!” Haku never has met someone more terrifying than his father, so he said, “He couldn't be all that bad.” “No, you don’t understand that man, is more terrifying than the king of Grevan!” At that moment Haku thought “more terrifying than my father?”.
Lina looked at Haku, who looked like he had all kinds of thoughts so to relive him she said, “But it’s been months since I have last heard from him, he is properly dead.” “What is his name, Lina?” “His name? Why do you ask?” “I just want to know, could you tell me?” Lina hesitated a little but then said “Jesake” The moment Haku heard the name he froze. He remembered his little sister last words “Je..sake”. Lina looked at Haku, Haku was practically trembling of fear. “Are you ok, Mr Haku?” Haku snapped out from it, “Yes, I'm just shocked.” “Can I ask why?” Haku was about to say it until they smelled fresh bread.
“I’m hungry, Azu!” “I know, but mother said to head east over, so we will have to keep going!” Azu and Divis keep walking undoubtedly tired. “How much longer?” Divis said 2 and a half meters behind Azu. “Not long,” Azu said with a smile across her whole face. There it was Bayan the capital of Pinam. There was a festival going on there it was called “The Caniman” where you would dress up in a mask and visit the king. “Azu, what is it?” “The festival!” Divis walked closer to Azu and saw it, balloons, masks and delicious food. “Sis, can we go!” Azu looked at Divis, “I’m not sure, we don’t have masks.” Azu looked in the basket that Filisia handed them 18 hours ago. “Ah, mother packed masks for us! And there is a letter!” Divis looked curious at the letter, “What does it say?” “It says.”.
Filisia is at a table writing a letter, Azu and Divis are sleeping on the bed. Filisia looks at them and smiles. Filisia reads the letter one last time,
“Dear Azu and Divis. By the time you get this letter, I'm gone. Probably not dead or I'm unsure, it’s in the middle of the night I got a vision, our house is going to be burned down and there is nothing I can do to stop them. But I can at least protect you two.
In the basket, there is a necklace I want you Azu to have it, inside is a picture of the whole family even your father. It will protect you against all evil, and Divis you will also find a dagger, it’s small but that is my first dagger and may it protect you and your sister, I know you hate weapons, but you don’t need to use it and hopefully you might never need it but just in case you can have it.
I love you both so very much! ”
Azu and Divis looked again in the basket to find a necklace and a dagger. Divis who was afraid of weapons didn’t want to even look at it. “It’s ok, just have it in your back pocket in case they come after us too.”
“Fine...” “Could you help me.” Azu turned her back to Divis and took her hair out of the way leaving her neck visible. “Could you help me get this necklace on?” “So, will we ever see mom again?” Azu looked down, “Whoever wanted our mother I don’t think they would want to hurt her, so, I'm sure we will see her again ok?” Divis brought up a smile, “Yeah!”. Divis helped Azu get on her necklace. “Here a mask, have it on so that nobody can see who we are.”.
Azu put on a pure white mask with pearls and diamonds lining under her eyes to her ears in all kinds of colours and some beautiful pattern on her mask. Divis put on a black mask who had white diamonds and pearls making a beautiful and mysterious pattern.
Azu took Divis’s hand and held it. “Let’s go.”. Azu and Divis walked down the hill to the capital.
