This chapter is a mess (even in grammar) so basically Erika had a brother, that looked like Mark. She was always working and never noticed that Loy wasn't doing that well. He was involved in an "accident" and died. She feels guilty. Now that she found someone physically similar to Loy wants to protect it (as a dog, so that the Boss can allow her to do such a thing.) The red stuff is hair clips.
