Russet Orange, Burning Red
Beauty comes from what is dead
Purgatory so exquisite
For the world it is requisite
Falling leaves and laughing children
Warm clothes to keep warmth hidden
Holding hands with those so dear
Celebrating our every fear
Pumpkin spice smells so nice
Take my advice, leave none for the mice
Eat a slice and don’t think twice
Tasting it is paradise
A walk in the park
A talk in the dark
Giggling till we all are shushed
But still our joy shall not be hushed
Living life in shades of brown
All are smiles none will frown
Leaves falling down
Create an earthen crown
Even when the sky seems grim
Rain falls like a sullen hymn
With all the joy this season shall bring
We hum along, our souls all sing
Golden Yellow and Grinning Pink
Fill the heart to the brink
The in between begins to unfurl
Here she comes, the basic white girl
