In modern day, we oft forget, the pleasure that is reading
No, not reading magazines, or comics, or the credit scene,
But real reading! From a book! The paper kind you dolt!
“Buy me technology!” The children all are pleading,
Boy, those children of today, sure do love their screen,
No lock can keep them from their code, not even a dead bolt!
But with a holiday, soon approaching, I know what they’ll be needing,
No the newest I-Phone, No! Stop whining like a teen!
A book, you fool! A book they need, it’s cheaper than her colt!
Smell that paper, new or old, that wooden paper scent!
Brings back good memories, right?
SO GET A FREAKING BOOK
If brain rotting you wish to prevent,
And end this modern blight
JUST BY A FREAKING BOOK
You’ll find your money is well spent
Just give up without a fight
GO BUY A FREAKING BOOK
So fly you fool! To the store!
Words are life, more precious than obsidian
And it does not do, to dwell on screens, and soon forget to read
Think Little Women is a bore?
Try The Chronicles Of Prydian
Or perhaps you might like Feed
Still believe that reading is a chore?
You’re as stupid as a Floridian!
Just pick one up! I plead!
Reading takes us far away
Lands unknown, worlds unseen
Wars we’ll never have to fight
So go ahead, read all day!
Go to places you’ve never been,
You might enjoy it, far too much, and even read all night!
