The hazy sun continued to beat down on Usheb Valley as the car trundled down the rocky slope to the flat road beneath. His lips firmly pressed together, Jolark allowed the wheel to turn in his hands as his transportation wandered onto the concrete. Turning to the right, the driver glanced in the rear view mirror as the dusty dunes of the valley grew further and further away. As he returned his eyes to the road in front of him, Jolark glanced down at his passenger and tried to gauge his reaction to the early departure. Both Clio and Kurym were fast asleep in each others arms in the bedroom when Jolark decided to leave. He knew they wouldn't mind that he left without saying goodbye. He knew Clio especially would not be at all bothered as he had a habit of sneaking off. A warm breeze hit him from the oncoming horizon and he tapped the steering wheel with quick fingertips. Ulo watched his friend as he drove the car into the early morning atmosphere. The sun was out in Usheb Valley, but it was barely very early morning where they were. The light in the open top car wasn't the best but with his built-in vision implants, Ulo could see Jolark very clearly. He seemed to be thinking seriously about something, but not being psychic, the little metallic dog had no idea what was on his friend's mind. Only he knew, and only Jolark would know if or when he was ready to talk about it.
"... Shit!"
Ulo snapped his head around to the driver as they shouted to themselves two more times but as his friend became silent again, the tynko curled up on the passenger seat and allowed their system to reboot.
3 - ZHEMHAWK CAVERN - Ifera
It was made so my sight fails me, but I see.
I see how the world is, how life crumbles at the slightest whisper.
How love grows in the hearts of those susceptible to its charms.
How birth is the undoing of those giving it.
Yes, I see plenty.

A loud crash interrupted my slumber.
Not far from where I rest my head, I heard it, below...
And what followed; the sounds of anguish, the sounds of death.
His voice.
His voice, haunting me in my solitude.
Please, don't let me be forgotten in the dark.
~ Cytia 498
More screaming. More uncertainty.
More needless and pointless destruction.
For a seemingly, endless eternity; the haunting sounds of war in my head.
Let it be done. Let it be finished.
Let it be.
This cannot go on forever.

Fire and ice, the two age old rivals, I feel them outside.
The kryken flies over my lair, the immense heat is unmistakable.
But its foe, this strange and yet welcome cold, it cannot be!
He told me they all died, he told me I was the last one.
He lied to me. He lied to me again and again.
If I ever meet him again, he shall pay dearly.

Lying in this dank and lonely cave, I am completely alone.
No sounds disturb me now, it has been many years since the silence broke.
Those warring one another are at peace again, the final battle...
Oh yes, that battle. I remember it well.
The fire had taken the ice. The fire had destroyed the ice.
The ice, my kin, my only chance to be free... now gone forever.

My sleep was disrupted today by a strange presence.
Something or... someone, unusual to my nose and ears...
They entered the cave and shuffled around in the dark.
Even with their sight, they could not see me.
The scent of a young man, perhaps?
They wandered around my home for a while before leaving.
What were they looking for? Rare stones or gems?
There is nothing worth keeping in this place...
~ Wyrio 319
The strange and yet familiar presence again today.
I know his scent now, he has come a few times over the past few years.
What is he looking for here in the dark?
I yearn to look upon his face and know my visitor.
He stood close today, so close I could feel his warmth from his breath.
Such a familiar and yet unfamiliar feeling.
Perhaps I could touch his face and know how he feels...
Would he run away? Or would he stay and know me...
I am so alone. His visits make me see how deprived I am of touch.
