Sherlock had woken up that morning wrapped in John's arms. He had jumped up immediately, afraid that John would object to physical affection so soon. But John's face had lit up in a smile when Sherlock had looked at him, and all had been well.
Then Lestrade had decided to show up.
Well, he had come bearing a case, so he was excused. Now John, John was the one who deserved the silent treatment. Bugger.
Regardless, Sherlock was now on the scene of a most intriguing crime, and that could be considered the second-best that had happened today.
Because, of course, he had woken in John's arms. And Sherlock predicted that would be the single most valuable moment of his life.
