Kier picked up a stone from the ground and whispered an incantation. The stone glowed with a white light, replacing the darkness, allowing him to look at his work.

“Not bad, huh?”

“You never sucked at magic. Only at life,” said Medes.

The light revealed a circular room with entrances to other rooms. With only a touch and a few words, it seemed Kier had created an abode for himself.

“So,” Medes paused for a second. “You weave the filaments of reality with arcane words, but you couldn’t conjure up some furniture?”
