There was a large room, walls lined in weapons. "This is our armory... this is where we find our weapons. They connect with our souls... look around." Cas said; each weapon was neatly cleaned & placed. I walked up & down hallways, until I came to a large paint brush. It was nearly as big as I was; something about it called me to it. "Beautiful aren't they?" I jumped as I looked at a woman, about 5'5. She was pale with dyed purple hair in a bob & bright blue eyes. She wore a purple suit jacket, pink tie & white button up with black pants. In her hair was a ribbon with a bell on it; she was holding a wine glass, most of it gone. "However, that is a... interesting weapon choice. What made you choose it?" I shrugged. "Dunno..." I started to walk back to where Cas was. "Lilac Hoiser. Nice to meet you." I smiled wryly. "Jack Faller... same." she smiled widely as we came back to Cas. "Well, what'd you f-Your Honor." she bowed. "Awww, honey. You can call me Auntie." Cas looked up. "Your H-Aunt Lilac... this is-" "The new soul you reaped. I know... I gotta go. Take care darlings." she walked off as Cas sighed.
"Who was that?"
"My aunt. She's the judge of souls... kinda like a queen."
"She's nice."
"You didn't even meet Claie. So, what's your weapon?"
I showed her & her eyes got wide. "Woah... it's beautiful. I didn't know we had this." I handed it to her & Cas took it; she immediately dropped to the ground. "Heh! It likes you! I can't even hold it... here, take it." I grabbed the brush as she sighed. "C'mon. Now we mark it for you."
"Huh... interesting." there was a dark skinned male with grey eyes; his hair was jet black & he wore a black shirt with matching black pants & boots. His vest was grey along with his cape; at his waist was a sword. "My old paint brush... huh." Cas smiled. "Can you brand it Onyx?" the man chuckled. "Of course I can. Give me a minute." he walked off as Cas explained. "That's Onyx. He's made every single weapon since 1920. He's good huh?" I nodded as he came back with my name engraved in the handle. "Have fun. See you later Cas." he walked off & Cas dragged me away.
The whole day was nothing more that running tasks. Once we returned to her house, I flopped onto her couch. "My God, I'm beat." she chuckled. "The dead don't rest Jack. Now, we train."
I wasn't able to control this weapon very well; it go from small, to huge, to why the hell is it glowing in five seconds. Cas said it was pretty normal. "It took me a long time too. But I've been training since I was 4. The trick for me is to keep my emotions in check, but it's different for everyone." I looked at my weapon, the paint brush fully grown; my name glowed in strange lettering. "What's that?" Cas smiled. "Onyx's signature. It says your name... mine does too." she summoned her weapon & similar letters glowed on the blade. "Side's it's not a normal weapon anyway." I sighed heavily.
"Great."
"No, no. I just mean it's not right."
"Even better."
"No, no-ugh. Here get your shoes on. We're meeting Mary."
"When?"
"Now."
I was looking Mary in the face as she rolled her eyes. "Seriously? Is this stuff really that hard for you?" I shot the red head a glare as Cas chuckles nervously. Mary spoke again. "Look, Jack right? Jack, Reapers weapons are in two categories. In one category are things you'd bring to a fight; knives, guns, swords, & so on. Then you have other things... things that you normally don't fight with, but still can help you win, like that paint brush of yours." I went pale.
"How did you-"
"I know all."
"I told her."
Mary sighed as I stammered out a new question. "So what's your weapon?" she smirked. "I am the weapon. Ever heard of a Huldra?" she asked. Before I could answer her entire physique changed. Her red hair became braided in some places & she had lynx like ears. Both eyes seemed to be glossed over with a green color & glowing faintly, while her dress was a forest green version of Jessica Rabbit. She smiled, teeth sharp. "Some creatures are the weapon, given life by Gods. Lord Loki gifted me with life... & well got his ass beat for it, but hey." she smirked. "According to our legend, our voices led many men & women astray." she sighed, remembering the time fondly. "Starting today, I'll train you on how to use your new weapon. Properly." I was a bit weary, but I agreed anyway. "Excellent. Now we-" I glanced to see Cas kneeling on the ground, speaking to something, then she stood up, black fur appearing on her face. "Mary, we have to go." Cas said, summoning her scythe & sitting on the handle, sideways, like she was sitting on a chair. "C'mon. We're leaving." the blade end was barely touching the ground as I unsteadily sat down & soon we took off into the air.
"Where are we going?"
"..."
"Cas?"
"..."
"Cassidy!"
"Casket."
"Huh?"
"Casket is my real name... for the sake of most humans, I chose Cassidy."
"Oh... so what should I-"
"There."
We touched down at a small graveyard, to which a pale girl was standing there, waving with a blank expression. "Meet Claie." Cas said.
