Lies

Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Nov 18, 2018

Jake

We were all hanging out at Tom’s house, waiting for Kathy to come home. At least, that’s what they were doing. Personally, I was waiting for Josh. He was supposed to give me something, but he was extremely late in getting here from school. Tom and Matt were still gossiping about her hotness the same way that Tara gossips with her friends over some actor that they all love. It was almost sickening.

It seemed I wasn’t the only one who thought that way as Meaghan came into the room and made a show of gagging. “You guys make me sick.” She said, “You really are completely pathetic.”

“Do you know where she is?” Tom asked.

“Working out.”

“Seriously?”

“Uh, yeah,” Meaghan rolled her eyes again, “I repeat, you guys are pathetic.” As she left, I couldn’t help but agree with her.

A while later, we heard the front door open and close before a girl yelled, “Tom, you friend is very slow. When he finally decides to show up, tell him to bring my bag downstairs.”

Tom and Matt looked at each other and scrambled to see if they could get a peek at Kathy before she disappeared into her room. When they failed to do that, they went outside to wait for Josh to see if he had any juicy details to report. They were acting like Tom’s sister and her friends. It really was kind of sickening to watch. I ignored them and went to find the bathroom.

Unfortunately, Meaghan was in the one upstairs, so I had to head downstairs to find their other bathroom. On my way there I had to pass by Kathy’s bedroom, and I heard her say, “Jake, where are you?” in a voice that seemed kind of upset.

Curious, I stopped and peeked into her room. I saw her lying on the bed in front of her laptop, I’m assuming still in the same clothes she came back in because she still seemed kind of flushed and wasn’t wearing a shirt. I couldn’t help but notice her toned legs and how nicely shaped her body was… and then felt guilty as soon as the thought crept into my head. I noticed her sulking at her computer, as if that would make her friend magically come online and talk to her.

As I watched her, her cell phone rang and her entire demeanour did a complete one-eighty. Her smile was radiant as she picked up the phone and answered it in an excited, breathless and sexy voice. I quickly backed away and headed into the bathroom, trying to figure out why she seemed to attract all my thoughts and why she seemed to be so familiar to me.
