They sat down at a bench. Staring at the most magnificent view in the Loghan’s Park. “What we see is the lake called the ‘Singing Waters’, and at the other shore are tribunes. They build it as a homage to the name, and historical meaning,” Timothy said. His voice was warm, and he was thinking of the good memories he made here.
“Had some fun times here?” The blue-eyed asked. Timothy nodded. “The first date with my ex-girlfriend. Also my father and I often came here. Played with kites or doing a picnic. I miss that easy times as a child.”
“Me too,” the blue-eyed said. Both had good memories on such a view. About a loving father, or a family at all. About old times, that are over.
“What’s behind that name?” Chandler asked.
“A long story. It goes back to a forbidden love, it was in the 1300th century, I think. No one knows if it’s even true… or just some old woman’s tale. There was a couple, a man and a woman, both the children of rivaling rulers. They met here, and fulfilled their dream of being together. But one night, when the full moon was at it’s highest, right above the lake, they were caught. They always met on one of the shores, either here on the southern, or at the northern, where the tribunes are right now. On that night, they were both on each of the side, forgot where the meeting point was. And got caught, by the opposite soldiers. Executed, in the absence of their beloved one. Now their souls still wander here, sing about their sorrow, about how painful it is, to be apart from your love, for eternity. The fuller the moon, and the more it is above the lake, the clearer you can hear them. Until they even talk to you. At least, some people claim that. Some say, they never heard anything, no matter how full the moon was.” End of the story. Although it sounded like total fiction for them both, it made them think for a few moments.
The blue-eyed was excited, never before, was there a story, mysterious as this. “Wanna check it out?” he asked. His smile revealed his motivation to stay here until the night comes. “I won’t stay here all day long, forget it,” Timothy said.
“Please, I owe you after that.”
The red-eyed thought about it. Somehow, the offer was everything but avoidable. ‘Maybe it’s good when… he owes me,’ he thought while looking at the little blue-eyed. And felt a little embarrassed. “Alright!” He said. Thought about something… shady. ‘Now I know why I’m so mixed-up.’
Chandler smiled. “Then tell me one thing in exchange. Or maybe two…” The red-eyed said. Tension build up around his throat. ‘Maybe just one? Maybe the other is too private?’ The blue-eyed nodded.
“Ok. What’s the reason that you talked to me? I mean… the real reason… why talking to a drunken stranger? And your Grandfather… was he the reason why you were so strange… when he picked you up?”
The little blue-eyed nodded slowly. Timothy waited for a real answer. “Yes. I will answer them… after tonight. Good?” Timothy nodded as well.
“Then after tonight.”
