[Day 5, A.M.]

David's POV || Unexpected Date From A Jock

》Kindly put your favorite food here《

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

I arrived at a Chinese restaurant. The reason behind is I want to meet with my friend Cameron and talk about this flowers and chocolates on my hands. I know my friend, he's a lil' detector.

This place is actually three blocks away from our school - which is pretty safe for me to hide in the meantime. Looking at my phone's time; 10:40 A.M. That means I still have 20 minutes before Cameron comes here for his lunchtime.

"May I take your order, sir?" A high-pitched woman asked me. I looked at her, guessing that she was in middle forties. There's already a slight wrinkles at her forehead and near her eyes as she was smiling at me, her hair's naturally brown and wearing the restaurant's red apron.

She's like my grandma. But a little younger.

"N-no. I'm just waiting here for a friend---"

"No. Order us two dumplings and two tea. That's all thanks." A sudden voice cut me off. The lady infront of us jot down on the small notepad before leaving.

I didn't hesitate to look behind me to see who is that with a heart pounding.

Francisco Gil.

I blinked.

What is he doing here? Doesn't he still have class?

Gil beamed a first-time soft expression at me. I, wide eyed and shocked while staring at him in great disbelief. Of course, it was unusual for me to see him like this unlike the past where I got used from his devious glares. "W-what are you doing here?" I stuttered.

He didn't respond, well, except for caressing my cheeks in a gently way. "I missed you."

That didn't surprised me. Maybe he meant he missed pranking and destroying my highschool life with his own likings. I shrugged, looking away to get away from his touch.

He let out a soft chuckle. "Stop being a coy. You are looking cuter."

He. Did. Not. Just say I am cute. Right? I think I have a large stuff that was blocking my ears. Gross. "What are you saying?"

"I like you." He plainly stated. Now I turned my head at him, a scared look on my face. Well, Gil is really a good-looking one. He has that athletic body that only functions to hurt me, an eyes that're beautifully colored gold, hair spiking up and tanned skin. I know girls couldn't say 'no' at this feature, especially if he asks them going out in a date. But for me, even though he's attractive, he wasn't simply my type -- not because he hurt me but because I couldn't feel any connection with us.

"Here's your order. Have a nice day!" The same lady who took Francisco's order came back with a fresh steaming dumplings on a round-shaped plate, following it by a green tea. Gil smiled again at me and pushed the extra plate at me together with the cup.

"Eat. My treat."

Okay, he's creeping me out. I need to say something.

"Whyareyoubeingniceatme?" My question came out as the speed of light, resulting being absurd. He twitched his eyebrows.

"What?"

I sighed, looking down at my plate. "What are you being nice at me? Last time we met, you hated my presence but now, you're creeping me out." I state as a matter-of-fact.

"Huh?" Then he scratched his neck. "But I said I like you so basically, I'll treat you nice."

"Why? There's other better than me. Better girls than I."

"But you caught my attention." Now he is starting to sound so cliché. "I wanted to stay closer at you for a long time now."

"I thought you said you don't want to see me?"

"I know..... I know.... I made a mistake." Francisco exasperatedly sigh. I lift my head up to see him bowing down, fidgeting and twirling his fingers together. I mentally laughed because a jock never do that. But laughing now is not the right time. "Ugh! I guess I have to explain it you why I always bully you."

For a moment he will confess something at me deeper to what I already know, I forgot the busy sound of running waiters at the restaurant and listened at the serious Gil that was about to say something.

"Actually, the pranks and bullies I pulled out to you is the only way I thought of being close and touching you." Face-palming, "Agh!!! I sound so awkward right now."

A small laugh crept out my lips. "Don't worry, we're both awkward now."

Francisco laughed also, "The first day you became my classmate, I already laid my eyes on you. Like, you are typically the shy nerd who uses to sit behind the room and be a slump for being anti-social. That goes on and on until I heard from one of my friends that you have already a boyfriend named Cameron, right?"

Choking at the tea I am unconsciously drinking, I shouted "What?!" But covered it with my hands when the customers gave me a weird look. "Cameron is just a friend! A close friend!!"

"Don't shout cause I know. That's why I am apologizing right now." He rolled an eye at me, an amusement one. "Back to what I was saying, I thought Cameron was your boyfriend so I started to became jealous. The letters and names of 'Fag' I always throw at you is the way I show my rage and jealousness. I'm quite a bat-shit that time. Ha~ I really apologize at it."

"Don't worry. I already forgave you." I declared truthfully and sincere. I'm not the type of person who plants anger all the time just because someone did horrible things at me. That's a lesson I learned from my grandma.

He sighed a relief. "Whoo! That's great to hear." I can now sense the happiness at his tone and found myself smiling at that. "By the way, what do you think at the flowers and chocolates I gave to you?"

(⊙ o ⊙)

"This all came from you?!" Loosing the fork at my hand, I stared at him with double disbelief.

"Cheeky right? Well, I want to take you out but instead, we coincidentally met here. Isn't that great?!"

I nodded slowly.

"So, can you be my boyfriend?" He bluntly and hopefully asked, a glint of excitedness peering through his eyes. "Since you and Cameron are not really dating, do I have a chance being with you?"

Francisco extended his hands to place it at my own, but I didn't feel anything. It's just plain. I furrowed and frowned as I clutched my t-shirt tightly. I'm sorry Gil, but I think we aren't compatible to each other.

"So?"

"I'm sorry." I made up my mind. Francisco looked down at me, a hurt expression playing on his face. As much as I don't want to hurt him, I cannot think of other way how to end this.

"But why?" He desperately asked.

"Francisco, listen, I know you like me but I don't feel the same way. STILL that doesn't mean I hate you, it is just that I don't want to be in a relationship right now." That was true. All I words I said is true. I still need to finish my college and focus on how to pay the debt that my both parents left me.

"Oh okay, I guess you are in love with Smith Wilson." He slumped. "I saw you both holding out in the campus."

W-wha?! I forgot about that incident. So this mean that all school really knows about the fake marriage of me and my husband? Oh no, how should I clean whoever took a picture of us.

"I-I......"

"Shh. I was just trying if you really love your husband because it looks like when you are together, you are shoo-ing him away. And that extent, I thought you don't have feelings for him so I try confessing if you instead have feelings for me. It turns out, I was wrong. You love him right?"

I grimaced at the words he told me. It was just a fake marriage between me and Smith, and besides, we still barely know each other except my knowledge at him for being bossy, mischievous, disgusting, a tease and self-centered guy. But wow, it is almost like I knew everything about him.

Nah, I could still be missing some parts. Who cares though?

Come to think of it, do I really love Smith? Everytime he gets closer to me, I am having this unexplainable feeling of being ecstatic. Everytime he does embarrassing things to me, I am hoping for something but I don't know what actually. Am I falling?

Meh, never in a million years.

"Can we stay friends?"

Francisco frowned again. "You didn't answered my question. Do you have feelings for Smith Wilson?" He repeated again.

I shook my head, unsure. "I said I don't want to be in a relationship right now."

Francisco sighed, "Fine. And it's okay for you and me being friends. But remember, if I ever see Smith hurting you, I will take you. Get it?"

I blushed deeply at that. "Blah! Blah! Blah! Okay, okay!! Let's just eat and forget this 'dating' thing. I wanna be peace for awhile."

Things goes on its way and it's time for Gil to say goodbye. I looked again at the flowers, smiling at the progress when Cameron came with Mike. They both ordered something before I told them what happened with me and Francisco. When they heard his name, they disapproved because they also know what Gil done to me. I told them to calm down and listen to me first. In the end, they brushed it off.

"I'm now full, don't you?" Cameron said as he rubs his tummy while looking at Mike whose being paranoid at his seat the time they came. "Are you okay?"

Mike snapped out of it and glanced at us. "Uhm, guys, I think we are being followed."

"By whom?"

He shrugged indifferently. "I don't know but it looks like someone is watching us."

Cameron slaps his back to make Mike jolt about it. "Chill dude. You need rest. You've been going on three days straight at your thesis. Maybe you are already hallucinating."

The other guy closed his eyes but the uncertainty was still readable at his demeanor. "I-I guess I am. Silly me, just forget what I said..."
