With the papers signed, I handed them back to my father. "Junichirou, Masaomi, you two are legally married. However, Mr. And Mrs. Abe, Junichirou's second father, and I have planned a wedding and bought a house for you two," Father said as he pulled out his phone to show the house. It was a small two floor house with one bedroom, an office and two bathrooms. Seeing this tiny building, I cringed.
How could father expect me to live in such a small place? "Father. How do you expect all of my belongings to fit in this small home?," I said with a touch of annoyance. It was then that he announced that more than half of my furniture, and all of the things he'd gotten for me over the years to make my life easier, had been sold for around one million garto. Of that one mil, he was giving me twenty-five thousand. He said he wanted me to learn the value of money. What a waste of my time.
Masa, who'd been quiet this entire time, finally made his presence known. "Thank you, Father, for such a kind amount of money. Junichiro, we can use this to decorate our new house. Isn't that wonderful?," he chirped, clearly hoping to avoid an argument between Father and I. I huffed softly and muttered, "Yeah... Absolutely fucking wonderful.."
This marriage was clearly off to a wonderful start, though it only got better when Father announced that he was paying for the enyire wedding, suits, catering and all. Boy, was I ready to marry Masaomi and live the happiest poor life ever. Not!
Why should I have to marry this man when he was so poor he wears baggy clothes? This wasn't fair to me at all. Though he seemed happy enough. He was probably happy get our money. These were things I thought that day, the day we were legally married. But, damn. I was so, so wrong about Masaomi. I just hadn't realized it yet, though I would soon after we married. I would come to understand why he agreed to the marry someone like me.
