Argo watched him carefully, making sure the other was beneath the sheets before getting up. He set the bowl of popcorn on the nightstand before walking to the TV stand pushed up against the wall across from the bed. He leaned down, putting the movie into the DVD player before sitting on the edge of the bed again. Bastian's eyes widened a tad when Argo kicked his shoes off, setting them neatly beside the bed before crawling beneath the covers next to him.
"What are...What are you doing?" Bastian eventually managed to ask, tensing slightly when Argo grabbed the bowl of popcorn before shuffling so that he could lean against the other.
"You haven't felt good for almost a month, correct?" Argo asked, pinning Bastian beneath his icy gaze.
"Uh...That's what I said, yeah," the demon replied slowly. He still was wary of Argo's motions, a bit tense as he found himself unable to decide whether he wanted to get closer or farther away.
"Then I'm going to make you feel better," Argo answered simply before setting the bowl of popcorn in his lap. Bastian gave him an incredulous look.
"Make me feel better, huh? What do you think Erikos would say if he heard you saying something like that to me?" Bastian asked slowly. Argo rolled his eyes before popping a piece of popcorn in his mouth.
"This isn't like a year ago, Bastian. I'm not going to make you feel better with liquor and a good time, especially not since I'm seeing Erikos now," he said as if it were obvious. At that, Bastian felt a bit of a painful twinge in his chest. Argo was right. Things weren't like they were last year. But still he allowed himself to rest his head on the taller demon's shoulder, occasionally reaching over to grab a piece of popcorn.
He could allow himself this little bit of peace. Just this once. If it meant Argo was happy, he could live with being second best.
