Our short, slow breaths,
Can easily show,
If we only learned to listen,
How brief life can be.
One’s warm smile
Can be replaced by cold skin
In only a breath,
Or the absence thereof.
But it’s not all bad,
Because it’s short, life is a challenge.
Something to be conquered.
Something to be treasured.
Everything can’t be done,
There’s simply no time.
But the things we do,
Mean so much more,
Because life is fleeting.
