Children Of Pain

Dec 02, 2018

"Have you heard of Children of Pain?" My father said just as I stepped in his office.

"Yes, sir. They are the new band that has caught the world's attention with their weird aesthetic and unknown identities." I said politely.

"Well, you will be in charge of them from now on as their producer and manager." He chirped.

"Wait, what?!"

My father just laughed wholeheartedly at my reaction, with a slight malicious glint on his eyes.

"These kids don't like their old manager, they have gone through some hard shit with adults and asked me if they could change him for someone younger. You are the youngest I could think of!" He smiled.

"I'm 20 years old, there's people younger than me here." I rolled my eyes.

"But not with as much experience as you."

"Dad..."

"Marcos."

"Fine. I will do it." I sighed. "But with a condition."

"Anything you want!" He excitedly agreed.

"I want you to have dinner with me at least twice a weak for the next year."

"Deal."

"You said it a bit too quickly..."

"Oh c'mon! Trust your old man for once!" He laughed, making me chuckle at his usual antics.

Before I could object, I was heading towards the practice room to meet the band that had captivated me so much these three months since their debut. I was extremely nervous about it, I had no experience in managing at all, just a few things I learnt from the company managers when I was their helper.

"Guys! Put your masks on!" Father shouted to the intercom of the closed door. "I bring your new manager!"

I waited impatiently in front of it, behind my father. The soundproof room opened slightly a minute later, only letting a girl's head in our vision. She was wearing the mask I knew as Queen's.

"Hi Queen." Father smiled. "Are you guys ready?"

"Hello sir." She replied, her lips curved in a slight smile. "We are, but let's wait that staff over there to quit spying." She looked behind us.

I turned around and saw an middle-aged man with a staff name tag. He was holding a camera and by the form he was grabbing it, he had been pointing at the door with it. He quickly ran away, vanishing through the halls.

"I'm truthfully sorr--"

"Don't worry sir." She interrupted my father and opened the door widely, letting her scarred body to show.

Queen had several nasty cut scars all over her arms, legs and belly. When we got inside, I saw the others sitting either on the little stage or on the floor near it, all of them wearing their masks but letting their scars, tattoos and piercings in display.

"Well guys, this is Marcos. You can trust him wholeheartedly, he is my son." My father announced. "He will be your manager from now on."

All of them looked at me, studying my figure and the possibilities. They looked at each other, and not-so-long later all of them silently agreed, making my father shine even brighter in pure glee.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Jack." Umbra perched upside-down from the stage, catching my attention.

His long blue hair hung over his head loosely, his mask moving slightly at the movement. He smirked and waved at me, making me switch my focus somewhere else; his tattoos. His right arm was almost completely covered by ink, as well as his left wrist.

"WHY THE FUCK DO YOU TELL HIM YOUR REAL NAME?!" Skull growled and punched him, making the blue-haired male fall off the stage while still upside-down, hitting his head in the process.

"Ouchie..."

In the fall, Jack's mask separated from the male, leaving his entire face to show. He had thick black eyebrows and when his eyes popped open, I could appreciate how big the pair of emerald orbs were.

"Are you okay?!" Reaper jumped from the stage and checked the tall male's head.

"Yeah, I'm not dumber than before." He chuckled.

Reaper glared at him and kicked him with her feet, not really strongly. "Better, I don't need an even more idiotic brother."

Everyone was watching the scene in amusement while I wasn't able to pry my eyes off of the blue-haired boy. He soon sat up and looked at me, catching me in the middle of my staring. He winked at me and smiled widely, showing his whitish teeth. He wore metal braces that you couldn't notice if he closed his mouth completely. My eyes went up to his freckled cheeks, he had a high quantity of little dots on them and were noticeable from far away.

"Jack, I can smell your gayness from here." Someone snickered from the entrance door.

I turned around and saw King getting inside the room, his mask and bandages on. When he closed the door, he took his mask off and saved it inside his bag.

"Troy, I can smell your manwhoreness from here." Jack rolled his eyes.

"That isn't even a word."

"It is now."

My father looked at me and smiled, clearly happy with this group and their weird antics. I was really entertained by them too, they were quite the weirdos. Jack and 'Troy' started bickering playfully, making a whole show; Troy was ranting about something while Jack made sarcastic comments about it, interrupting him every few seconds.

This was going to be really interesting...
