A few weeks later, not much has happened. People pretty much just avoid me but that’s fine with me. The most pressing thing on my mind is trying to find a college or university to go to. I was set on going into a creative writing course. I’m just not sure where yet, but I do know I want to get out of this town. But I think I’m going to take a year to travel with Connor, we have been talking and we both want to take some time off school so I think it’s the best for us. But then again I have to survive high school first.
Tonight Connor and I have a date and I’m super excited because we are going to a holiday parade. The only bad part is that it is so cold out but I’m sure it will be fun, but right now I’m stuck in my last period chemistry class. So fun. After class I go to meet up with Connor around the back of the school. I got to where we usually meet up but he wasn’t there. I feel someone, no two people grab my arms. I look and see two people with masks on. I struggle to get out of their grasp but they were too strong. I start screaming but one of them put duct tape over my mouth. They pull me around to a closed in corner of the school, then they zip tie my hands behind my back. A black van pulls up and they open the back doors and shove me in as I try fighting back but all I can do is kick because my legs are free but I end up kicking one of them in the face and I could tell it hurt because I was kicking as hard as I could. They got me into the van and shut the door then I realized that I wasn’t alone and I see Connor knocked out in the seat over. I knew how to get my hands out from behind my back, because I used to watch a lot of crime shows and one day I wanted to try it and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it was and it helped that I had long arm and am a small girl. After I got my arms out from behind my back I took the tape off my mouth and tried to wake Connor but he was out cold. I could see blood on the back of his head. He was hit with something.
We had been driving for about 10 minutes. I couldn’t really tell I was more focus on Connor and trying to get him to wake up. Then I remembered my phone is in my boot. The van stopped and all I could think about is that I need to call the police before they came. I tried to dialed anything but I had no service I tried about twenty times but no luck then I hear “Where the hell am I. Bella?” I look over to Connor and see that he is confused. He is looking at me and I put my finger over my mouth and show him that I have my phone. I move closer to him. “We need to get out of here.” I whisper so quiet that he could just hear me. The van has been stopped for about five minutes, we stay quiet in hopes to recognize the voices but the were very muffled. Then all of a sudden the van doors fly open. Someone with a blue ski mask on and it only had small eye holes. There were multiple of them with different colour ski masks. Four other people come behind the other person. “Get out.” one of them yelled. Neither of us moved I don’t know if it was the shock of just pure fear but we didn’t even blink. Two people came into the van and grabbed us. As we were being dragged out of the van we were both yelling and struggling. The took us out at put us on our knees as two people held us in place. The person I kick in the face came around the corner. “You bitch, you broke my nose.” he walked up to me and hit my face. I could feel the blood in my mouth, and it was almost like I was just hearing white noise. In the background I could hear Connor screaming at the guy that had just hit me and he was just standing in front of me. He kneeled down to my height and looked at me. I spit the blood that was in my mouth out at his face and it wasn’t hard to tell that he was pissed.
A girl wearing a black mask walked toward him and said “Not yet just wait.” Another car pulled up and a man and a woman with masquerade masks walked over. “I see that blood has already been spilled.” she said. “Yes and some of our own.” the man next to her said. The girl walked up to the man that had hit me and said. “Go get yourself cleaned up.” He walked away and into the building behind us. She walks up to me and grabs my face. She looks at me and I was so done with this. I tried to move to kick or hit her because my hands are still in front of me. “You're a feisty one.” she says and lets go of my face she turns to Connor. She gestures the man next to her to go see Connor as she stands next to me. I was not prepared for what happened next. She gestured to pick us up and as soon as they picked me up I struggled I was not going to let these nut jobs be the death of me. They brought us into the building and separated us they tied me to a chair in a small dark room the only light that was coming through was from a small window coming from the back of the room. Why didn’t I think about calling someone earlier, if I would have thought about my phone first we wouldn’t be here.
I heard footsteps and the woman was standing by the doorway facing me. She stood there for a moment then walked closer to me. “What do you want?” I say. “Me personally? Nothing. But the person that told me who you are and told me that they want you, I think that’s a different story.”
“Who?”
“That’s enough questions from you. I’m tired of hearing your voice.”
“Well then I won’t shut up until you tell me.”
“You try that you and your boy toy will live to regret it.” I didn’t say anything after that, well can you blame me. I hear more footsteps I looked at the door there was a man standing at the door and that is the last thing I remember. I wake up my vision blurry and my ears ringing. I give myself a moment to come to my senses and find out where I am. I sit up and realize that we are moving. My vision clears and I see that I’m back in the van. I have no sense of time and I’m not sure how long it has been. There were chains around my wrists that were attached to hooks on the van. Everything hurts. I look down and see blood realizing that I’m bleeding but that doesn’t matter right now. Then I hear a noise, it sounds like my ring tone and then I realized it was. I reach into my boot and grab my phone. I pick it up. “Oh my god I’ve been calling for hours. Where have you been?” It was Sof on the other end. I wasn’t sure what to say. But I managed to whisper “Call 911.” She was quiet for a moment. “I called them on my home phone. Where are you?” she says in a frantic concerned voice. “I can’t talk, just keep your phone on so when the police get there they can track my phone.” I say very quietly then slide the phone back into my boot.
I look around the van. I see Connor on the opposite side. I try to get to him. I could see he was injured. The chains were too short to reach the other side. I started panicking. “CONNOR!” I screamed. He didn’t move. I pull on the chains trying to pull them down or off my wrists. The chains were tight but I was not just going to sit there I start to pull the chains off my wrists but I was tearing my skin with it by the time I got one off my hand was covered in blood but my adrenaline was so high I felt almost nothing and I did the same to the other hand. But this time I tore my skin and something popped but that was the least of my consuren when I got my hand free I ran to Connor. Then I hear sirens, then the van stops and so do the sirens. I try to wake Connor up then I can hear muffled talking, then I hear more sirens from a different direction and I start screaming as loud as I could. Then I fainted, I’m not sure if it was from blood loss or from loss of breath when I screamed all I knew was that I was out.
