Claire glanced at her phone, it was Heidi.

“Hey girl, what’s up?”

“I need you to help me break into a house.”

Claire paused, “excuse me?”

“I need you to help me break into a house,” Heidi enunciated each word as if Claire wasn’t fully fluent in English.

“You’re going to have to explain this all to me. Because I’m pretty sure that’s illegal,” Claire began packing up her things. “In fact, I’m pretty sure that could get us expelled.”

Heidi laughed, “you’re more worried about getting expelled than arrested?”

“Well, I mean no but at the moment that matters more to me.”

“Ok, maybe we don’t need to break into a house just a room. We’ll already be in the house.”

“So no breaking and entering?”

“A little breaking and entering. But nothing too illegal.”

“Not too illegal is still too illegal for me,” Claire huffed.

“Not illegal at all then?” There was laughter in Heidi’s voice.

“Right.”

“You got it, dude. Meet me at the dorm when you’re done studying.”

Claire was already walking.

Heidi was laying in bed on her phone when Claire walked in.

“Hey,” Claire threw her backpack onto her bed and sat down next to Heidi.

“Hey.”

“So, what’s up?”

Heidi sat up and threw her phone onto the bed next to her, “Kevin has… something of mine. Something I want back.”

“Ok. Have you tried asking him?”

Heidi sighed, “Claire he’s blackmailing me.”

Claire gasped, “that’s still a thing?”

Heidi laughed bitterly, “yes, Claire, my sweet, innocent child, blackmail is still a thing.”

Claire thought for a moment and sighed, “I’m in.”
