I looked across the waters, watching as the waves crashed on the sand watching as boats went across the horizon
"Here's you're coffee honey" The waitress smiles putting the coffee cup down on the table next to my book
"Thanks" I Shrug nodding slightly to her and look back out the window and watching the waves on the beach
"What are you reading?" She asks trying to see my book but I pull it closer to me trying to make sure she doesn't get at it she looked a bit annoyed and wandered off back to the counter to make more cups of tea and coffee for people I had a sip of the warm coffee looking at the book for a moment flicking through the little pages till I found a little postcard so I took it out it had a shoreline and castle on a cliff with waves crashing on the beach below I held it to the window it was the same shot the same thing as outside so I turned it over looking at the writing on the back
"I miss you, its been raining nonstop all week, even this is just a painting, not even a Photo exists of this place being sunny, We'll be home on Thursday, I'm bringing home a present for you. Love Lawny"
I sighed Looking at her sweet handwriting and putting it back on the page, Once I finished the coffee I paid and went outside leaning on the pole close by the beach lighting up a cigarette as I watched the waves the smoke rushing off across towards the little town
"Where are you lawny?" I ask looking out towards the sea at the sun trying to hard to shine through the clouds I opened the little book in my hand protecting it from the little bits of rain " Lilly Lawn's Adventure" In sweet familiar handwriting on the inside of the front cover I turned the first pages of little drawings
take the train from London Kings Cross at 0915, change in York to Scarborough 22:35, head to the coastline for ice cream,
To do:
-Get huge ice cream
-see the castle
-buy Milton a teddy bear
-Send Witticker a nice postcard
-buy train tickets
all of it made me wonder, how did she get so far away so fast, I know she bought an ice cream she loves the ice creams here I used to argue with her so much the ice cream down in Cornwall was better but, she loved it here, I know she saw the castle she send me a photo, its still stuck on my fridge at home, Milton destroyed that bear in a second when the parcel came, and I have the postcard, I lanced to it again the shot the same the little hill with the castle and the slight light from the arcades buy train tickets? But to wear lawny? Where did you go? I turned the page to find my next step to follow.
