I stood watching boats ferrying in and out of the docks, big boats and little boats, old and new, I watched the sun high up in the sky I still felt a little cold this close to the water I ran my hand up my shoulder but I flinched when I touched my sun burns I saw a little shipping boat on the horizon I opened the book a little going to the next page and getting out the postcard I held it up and it matched everything even the little boat so I turned it over to read the pleasant writing on it

"Hey, I already miss you so much just wanna hug you so tightly and cuddle you forever, they have meh ice cream here, you make better ice cream at home, I kinda wanna send Milton a huge treat but I cant it will be gross when it gets there, I want to dip my feet in the water there are a tone of sweet little fishes, I am sending you a present from home (It might be a teddy bear but you'll never know) till it arrives at least, Love Lawny"

I smiled I miss her so much I can almost see her sat down here with her feet in the water writing the card I sighed putting it back in the book and I went for a cup of coffee so I sat in a little cafe once they brought me a coffee so I sat trying to figure out how long it took her to get down here "Writing a little card to a sweetheart?" a familiar voice asked I looked up and saw My friend Jake stood with his own coffee "How you doing?" He asks sitting across from me

"as good as I can be...given the circumstances" I answer keeping my hands tight on the book

"any closer to Lilly?" he asked me

"no" I answer quickly

"Don't worry you'll find her?" He told me trying to take my hand but I moved away from him clutching the book to my chest "It been a long two years" he said sadly

"You're telling me" I reply glancing to the window as a seagull landed outside the window stealing a chip and flying off

"I get that you miss her, I get that you want to find her, but... do you really think you're gonna find her this way?" he asked holding his cup tightly

"what choice Do I have? I know she's out there Jake, somewhere" I answer "I cant sit at home by the phone hoping she might call me back, I have to see if I can find something anything about what happened to her" I explain

"I know, Carrie things you should come home sit with everyone else and see what happens," he said

"I'm not coming home, not unless I have lawny with me," I tell him

"what if you don't find her? Or what if she's dead?" he asks

"she's alive!" I shout making everyone turn to look at me "I know she is" I add quieter

"but what if she is?" He asked

"Then I will stay with her" I tell him "I love her jake, I love lawny to much to abandon her" I sigh getting a little Polaroid of my sweet lawny stood on a beach her hair blowing In the breeze a huge sun hat on her head almost matching her cute little dress she was at the beach which beach I don't know "I miss her so much" I sigh cuddling the book close to my chest I could almost smell her perfume on the book a little "wherever she is she needs me" I tell him.
