Finally, Monday came, and it was time to go to school. I wasn't excited at all. All I felt was resentment towards Queen Leviathan because it's all her fault that I must attend in the first place! Fortunately, I happened to be in the same class as Lucas, the Queen's eldest son. On my way, I saw a fluffy, cream-colored cat. Without hesitation, I approached it and stroked it. Its fluffy fur was as soft as cotton candy- except it wasn't edible. I finally arrived at the luxurious school-grounds. Golden gates were surrounding the entire area and the security was beyond normal. Next to the front gates was a tall man with black hair and silver eyes. I slowly approached him. As I did, he appeared behind me saying:

"Do you need anything kid?"

"N-no. I just wanted to ask what time everything starts and where are am I supposed to go."

He seemed a bit puzzled, "Isn't Lucas, Queen Leviathan's son, not with you?"

"No, he's not." I looked him right in the eyes, "He just went and left without me you see."

He sighed in utter disappointment, "I'm Professor Ludwick nice to meet you." Professor Ludwick reached out his aging, but still young, hand to greet me. I grabbed his hand in return, "I'm Amarika Val pleasure to meet you Sir."

"Now, now Amarika! Don't call me Sir. It makes me feel like an old man!"

I shook my head in understanding, "Okay."

Then Professor Ludwick told me to follow him. Strangely enough, he wasn't a normal human; he was a half-breed of a wolf and human. As I followed him, I saw his long, black, gossamer tail. I also looked up to see his wolf-ears. I wanted to pet him and all but resisted and showed no sign of wanting to do such thing. At last we entered the classroom. Luckily enough, Professor Ludwick was my teacher. There as we came in was Lucas standing around with his friends chatting. Eventually, he noticed Professor Ludwick's glare of frustration and at that moment Lucas knew he was in trouble.

“Anyways, class as you all may know, we have a new transfer kid.” points at me.

“Hey, I’m Amarika Val. Nice to meet you all...” I sighed, I really didn’t want to be here but what can I do?

“I hope you all will get along!”
