Oh yes, the little y-word that made society tear away from the furry fandom. Around the early 2000's the word "yiff" was a sound that a fox made. It was a little interjection for anyone who had a fox character. It was also used in placement of the word "yes" (for example: "Would you like some cake?" "Yiff!"). On a furry chat platform, FurryMUCK (MUCK being a play on the anagram MUD which was a sort of chatroom for D&D players), people decided to bring a more adult connotation to it.
It was used as a dirty word or a curse in furry chat groups. I'm not fully sure of how a cute foxy response turned into an outright curse word and neither are other furs, but it escalated. It became the worst word of bad words. The big cheese of the dairy farm. In furry jargon, the y-word became the f-bomb and was used as such. Shouting the y-word around a bunch of furries is roughly the same as shouting f*** in public. It's definition soon became an adult activity that happens between two furry characters.
Remember what I said in the previous episode about different kinds of fursuits? There are some people who like to [y-word] in their costumes called "murrsuits" (PLEASE DO NOT LOOK THAT UP). These murrsuits usually have holes in the bottom and are poorly made since they're only used for... private activity. This activity of [y-word]ing in murrsuit is looked down on by a majority of furs since its disgusting.
Inside a fursuit, temperatures would reach about 102 degrees Fahrenheit so it can get excruciatingly hot. So in a poorly made murrsuit? I imagine it gets much hotter since there are little to no ventilation in the head. The fur would probably get crusty and gross and AAUGGH NONONO...
So yes, some furs [y-word]. But considering that there are 250,000 furries in the world and around 20% actually have fursuits and even fewer even want to mess up their fursuits. I forgot to mention in the previous episode that fursuits can cost from $3,000 to $17,000. Why in the world would you waste a couple thousand dollars to ruin a costume of a character you made?
