"I'll be there too," Matthew said to the closed door. "Seasonal cycle that can be inverted to fit both kingdoms, piece of cake!" Matthew exclaimed to me. I don't understand why my Mom would just dish a completely balanced and solved issue at us to solve.
"So I guess since it's already solved we don't actually have to do anything except write it nice and neat and give it to her at dinner," I paused contemplating what we could change, that would cause a change but not a supermassive change. I look at Matthew and he makes this face that he knows we are thinking the same thing.
"At lunch, we can say we scratched away the borrowed magi stones and just have a few of our people trade places and maintain living in both kingdoms," he says. "Phew" he exaggerates, "Such a hard task and we already finished" he dramatically finishes plopping himself back into the chair he was sitting on.
"Yes, so hard indeed" I continue. "We deserve mochi now," I say triumphantly and head for the door when a messenger appears at the door.
"Majesties you've been sent breakfast," the messenger announces.
"Looks like we might have to wait to eat mochi," Matthew laughs.
"Breakfast is for the week, not for the weekend," I play at the messenger. "If the Queen or the King sent you then, thank you," I smile, "but could I maybe have mochi as well?" I ask to be polite.
"The King and Queen both sent you breakfast. I can get you mochi Majesty," the messenger replies before setting down the food trays for them, she then bows and leaves.
"Mochi with breakfast sounds delightful," Matthew says pausing in between a bite of food. We eat delicious food and then retire to the meeting room. "You should come and visit soon. The palace needs a bit of frost to look menacing again." Matthew invites. "Your presence is missed in the Fire palace, there are so many hotheads who need a good cooling," he draws on with a pleading face.
"I'll go in a week to bring a seasonal chill." I plan. "Who are you courting this week no one or perhaps someone you won't look at twice?" I laugh because of his luck with only courting someone once then deciding he wasn't going to marry her.
"I'm not courting anyone right now but I will find someone," he says somberly, "you've been blessed to find someone suitable," he mutters. The messenger reappears bearing mochi. We both eat again and wait for the messenger to exit before resuming our conversation. The messenger leaves and we start talking again.
"You need to get married soon and I am being courted by Prince Nico Embersinge of the Wind Kingdom, and I can't wait to see the Wind Kingdom again," I don't know why but Nico is who my parents have it set in their minds for me to marry. "but I will say he's quite a dork sometimes. I mean he is such a gentleman and I won't mind having to be married to him," I laugh thinking I'd have to catch Matthew up with the events happening in my life. "I've been meaning to write to you everything about him but I haven't had the time to fully explain what is happening," I explain to Matthew.
"It's okay I've been receiving your letters and they mostly make sense, but I thought you didn't want to marry yet?" Matthew muses.
"I don't want to marry just to marry. I want an actual husband, I want an equal, I want someone who will be good for both the Kingdom and me," I say in a whisper. "Nico is good for both I guess and I would hate to disappoint the Queen," I say.
"If he makes you happy and you think he is good for both you and the kingdom, then I say you should do what you chose, don't stress on the decision, you know what you want, so go for it," Matthew supports me.
"You're the worst. You know you always know what to say that makes me decide that I shouldn't always do what the Queen wants," I smile, "she wants me to get married by next year before my birthday, I don't want to though I want to wait for a bit longer," I shrug.
"Let's go eat lunch and tell the Queen about the hard decisions we made for her," he chuckles embracing me briefly. "Cheer up for lunch, okay?" he asks with a chuckle.
