Prompt: The breakout blasted through the holding cells. It felt like the only change in silence and concrete since forever. The villain shielded their eyes, coughing up dust, before raising their head at the sound of boots too casual and sauntering to be the frantic rush of guards. “It’s a sin to keep a wild creature in a cage,” murmured a voice. A hand reached out to them as the dust of the explosion cleared. “Come with me.”
The breakout blasted through the holding cells. It felt like the only change in silence and concrete since forever.
The young man shielded his eyes, coughing up dust before raising his head at the sound of boots too casual and sauntering to be the frantic rush of guards.
“It’s a sin to keep a wild creature in a cage,” murmured a voice. A hand reached out to them as the dust of the explosion cleared. “Come with me.”
The man became clear, the voice connecting to the familiar grinning face that looked to be enjoying the scenario far too much. His suit was impeccably clean, only some of the dust settling onto his shoulders.
“Wild creature?”
“Yes, I’ve been told you’re quite the tiger in bed.” His grin only widened at the disgust the prisoner couldn’t hide.
“You’re sick, old man.” He took the hand, grateful as his boss helped him out and to a chopper nearby.
“Where’s-“
“She’s fine!” His yell was barely distinguished as the chopper’s blades wreaked havoc with his eardrums.
Inside, he was given a pair of headphones to block the noise and talk to the others.
“Where is she?”
“Should I be jealous?” His boss chuckled, clipping him on the shoulder. “The minute I found out, I had her escorted to my house. 24/7 security detail.”
Finally, he relaxed. God forbid his actions came back to bite her in the ass.
“I will need to know what they wanted.” He nodded in understanding. They didn’t capture him for shit and giggles.
“As soon as we land.”
Despite what he said, neither of them said a word until they arrived back at the mansion.
“You’re okay!” His girlfriend came rushing from the living room to meet him in the foyer with a crushing hug.
While it most certainly hurt, he wrapped his arms around her, not hesitating for a second to hold her.
“My ribs do hurt.” He blinked back the pain, keeping relief from showing.
“He’s grateful you let go.” At the other man’s words, he growled. “Just having fun at your expense.” He waved the young man’s attitude away. “We’ll talk tomorrow.”
Alone, she gave him a fiery kiss.
“Welcome home, baby.” He smiled at her.
Part of him was truly glad to be back, but another part of him knew that the storm had yet to come.
“Glad to be back.” Then again, he’d have life no other way.
